  • I went to the Bajaj Service center they said that changing the engine oil to anything other than what they sell i.e. Bajaj 20W50 will void my warranty. I was told to keep the stock engine oil.
    I have the following queries:-

[1] Which Motul Engine oil should I go for? V3000 - Mineral, synthetic or semi-synthetic v5100?

[2] I was told by a friend to use Shell Advance AX7 (10W-40 SL / MA2) Semi-Synthetic Engine Oil. 1 Liter retails for Rs.337. Is this recommended?

[3] I would like to add an engine cowling - what would it cost me to get one or make one? Will it void the warranty of the bike?

Get the oil changed now,as the engine is new and ran about 300kms,there will be metal particles in the oil,So change oil ASAP!

[1] Is it recommended to change the engine oil during the first service?
Yes,Never topup oil,Insist for a full oil change!

[2] What engine oil needs to be used? I was told by a friend to get Motul 5100 15W50 engine oil. Please recommend an engine oil.

Use Bajaj OEM Oil,As your engine is in runin period,Mineral oil is a must for correct settling of engine, never use synthetic or semi synthetic oils during runin period.

[3] What are the things that need to be checked during the first service?
Clean and lube chain, clean airfilter, check air pressure,Check and adjust chain and brake if necessary.

[4] What are modifications that can be done to the bike without losing the warranty?
You mean performance or external mods?

[5] What tubeless tyres can be used with the Pulsar 135? Would I lose performance and mileage?
      You mean putting TL tires?

Guyzz i need to know when to go for the second service....
In the manual it says somewhere around 5000kms...rite?
But i think thats too long for a bike to go without service..
      Need ur input guyzz..
Go and done the service asap,Dont follow the manual, change engine oil every 2000kms,Dont wait till 5000kms.

Cosmetic changes have no impact on warranty, any hard mod which is permanent to modify engine/exhaust etc behaviour will ruin your warranty.
      +1^^^

Remove saree guard, why you switched to aftermarket seat cover, that carbon fiber look doesnt look good, hope I'm wrong andd its decent in real life.
Never remove saree guard,it will protect your bikes rear from left side falls, just my thought.

Never change to Synthetic or SS if your bike is in runin period. Use Bajaj Oil till 5000kms for best engine life and health.

It varies from place to place,a big cowl will reduce airflow and will leads to engine overheat ,these engines are air cooled, remember. and AFAIK it does not void your warranty.

      • Should I go for Shell Mineral oil or Motul Mineral Oil? Can you specify a good brand and model that I can buy? I want silky smooth performance from my bike.

Guess stock oil is Pulsar dtsi 20W40 right? Shell or Motul ,both are good brands,I would say stick to OEM oil till the runin completes. Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 is mineral,225rs/L

          • I have covered 325 KM as of now and will be going for my first service later this week or next week. I shall stick to the oil provided by Bajaj Service Center.
[1]How many kilometers do I need to cover in the run in stage?

[2]Can I do an engine rousing or rising (something suggested by a friend) at the service center during the first service to complete the run in faster?

[3] How many kilometers do I need to cover to get my next oil change? Can I go for a different oil then?

[1]How many kilometers do I need to cover in the run in stage?
mostly 1000kms,but for best results some people follow runin period till 2000 to 3000kms.

[2]Can I do an engine rousing or rising (something suggested by a friend) at the service center during the first service to complete the run in faster?
Complete runin normally, dont know abou that rising thing.

I recommend s oil change @ 150,500 and 1000kms. Do your next oil change at 600kms and then @ 1000kms.

the run in period is for 2000 kms.

i dont think you should do that after covering 500 km. there's a process to break in the engines of sportsbikes. they break in before the 100 km barrier. so you can do it only before you cross 100 or rather within the 100km.

change your oil at 1500-2000. change at every 2k km. i'm not sure of the oil, i have to check myself
                Why Biking?
Because all other sports need only one BALL!!

It is 2000kms. For first 1000km you need to keep the rev under 4k rpm, for next 1000, keep it under 5k rpm for a proper running-in.

Not possible, at least as of now for the Indian bikes.

1.5-2k kms is best. IMHO the Bajaj oil is a crap. Better to use Castrol Activ Xtra 20W50 upto 5k kms. Then you can opt for Semi-synthetic oils. Do not put Full Synthetic oil in this baby pulsar.

as far as i know, a paint job will not void warranty.

costs - i'm interested to know that too!

                          • just complete 19000 km on my p135..
still give 50 to 55 mileage in city traffic. its run smooth after service.

NOW BAD PART.. electrical problems .like battery charging due to rain..
company warranty >> 1.5 year or 30000 km ... my battery has out of warranty ..

so now m confused between exide or amaron battery ,,:m

exide battery cost 1200 to 1350 with 1.5 year warranty but the other side
amaron battery cost 1000 to 1100 with 4 year warranty
                            MORE IS NOT ENOUGH

[3] Will these tyre sizes fit properly into my bike?
                              Front - 90/90x17
                              Rear - 120/80x17

Both of them are bigger sizes than stock,so will damper your bike's performance and a 120 section tire for ls135 is overkill and will definitely kills bikes performance and top speed.
