    Bikes don't leak oil,
    They mark their territory.

I am worried about engine overheating.. that is why i have asked the query.. can P135 sustain that long..
Also, i dont like to rip the bike.. i can cover long stretches on almost constant speed.. so was bit cautious about engine overheating..
Currently using.. VOLVOLINE 4T PREMIUM engine oil..

As far as i have read the discussion.. going on 70~75kmph.. on NH2
10-15 minutes break after every 80-90kms..

One thing i would like to ask more.. bike is just serviced (~80 km) till 12 AUg it will not be more than ~200 kms.. so should the engine oil be changed for the journey..

@ NIN.. congrats bhai for the mod... SX ENDURO yaad aa gai by god..
From my experience, there is no need to worry about engine heating. If engine oil is changed during service, then you don't need to change it again for the ride. If engine oil is not changed for last 1500 kms or more, then it's better to change engine oil just before the ride.

      • i got the ride back from the first service...

engine, clutch and gear are damn smooth, vehicle is good..

        but...
        but...

THE MECH MESSED WITH THE CARB!! THE BIKE HEATS UP EVEN MORE AND PICK UP IS SICK SICK SICK!!

I think i should get a local mech to tune the carb, what do you think?
        Why Biking?
Because all other sports need only one BALL!!

hey guys, am a new member here in xbhp though am not new to biking and am a proud owner of the 135 ls...
@cyberdon just go back to the svc and ask the mechanic to check it out and tell him the problem..your bike's still in the free service period and if the prob started after servicing you can always go back..and if you don't want to go back to the same svc find another and get it fixed..

I have taken the test drive and yes its as smoother as 150P and also you are true about the throttle. Will be booking it today. Lets see how much time it takes.

            • At the moment P135LS is a better buy, as you get the same performance/more mileage at much lower price and sharp handling is an added plus. I guess, changes in August are only going to be cosmetic just like the ones on P220. May be it's better to wait for couple of weeks as it's not a long time.[/QUOTE]

Will be booking it today..can't wait.

Too much to ask for! Is'nt it?

P.S: Those are nice pictures of your bike, shows your love for biking. Putting those mud-guards off must have been a MUDDY idea, especially the front mudguard removal must give you a nice dirty bath everytime you cruise in rains.
Inner satisfaction is what all we need mate...and thats what I did it for...(consider the certification to be an icing on the cake)

Thank you for the appreciation about the mod...that mod was specifically for the Rajmachi Ride only...where getting DIRTY was anyways mandatory

a local mechanic said that the carb could be tuned for a richer mixture, but then he also told me that i shouldnt mess with it until i've crossed 2000 km. what do you say nin?
The engine heating up is quite normal...even after the running in...especially when it has been running above 5k rpms...

Whether crossed 2000k or 50,000k never mess with the air-fuel screw until you have any idea about it...so make sure whoever does the mixture richer or even more lean has a good knowledge about it..

Do not worry much about the engine overheating...i have had no problems till date...

No need to change the engine oil now..

Its just an aesthetic mod which i did myself and has no effect on the bikes performance

At rajmachi...mud gets stuck between the stock mud-guard and the tyre and jamming the free rotation of the wheel...previously some xbhpians had to break the mud-guard due to this and non-availability of an allen key then...so i just played safe and yet made it look better
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

                  • how does it feel to have a Splendor and a CB Twister overtake you....?? :|

sucks! i called the svc, they asked me to bring the ride so that they can set it right.

from what i've read on the internet, i think i should also reduce the amount of air because it gets loads of hiccups.

otherwise the service was neat, gear shifting is too smooth.. so smooth that i dont even feel like shifting!! lol

On another note, i'm not really happy with the bike's rear brake. since i have a some experience with disc brakes, i'm planning to have disc brakes fitted. how much would it cost? anyone have experience with a rear disc brake on a pulsar 135?

It may cost you around 7000 to 9000 for rear discs.

thanks mate, but i heard somewhere that you can get discs at just 2k-2.5k.. or are these high quality ones?

anyway, i wont be getting them instantly, i'l have to wait for a few months before i buy it!

also, i'm not so happy with the suspension... i hear that mono suspension is better.. so should i go for it? how much would the change cost?

                          • Disc brakes for a light bike may be a bad idea , but if u want, use discs of less diameter.Reason> Cases of wheel locking are less but mostly occur on light bikes OR heavy bikes with larger discs or double discs. You must go for cheaper low diameter discs.MAy cost around 5k.
No idea about monoshox, but there are very cheap china made monoshox available for 2-3k.
And btw, handling is inversely proportional to suspension comfort.

the reason for thinking about disc brakes is because i'm least impressed with my drum brakes. i rarely use them! i prefer to use my front disc brakes!!

ok, i wont go for monoshock!!

and i got the bike tuned, pick up is really good now.
