    • I am also considering P135 after long search. But I am confused with the P150. The showroom guys told about the new version of p150 might be available in first week of August. I know 150 will be more effective than the P135, but taking the price diff of (Rs.-11K) into mind will P135 will be a good buy than p150 which is indeed with the 4valve engine tech specs and the mileage. I am very much confused as alwyz. I m planning the buy in the 2nd week of August. Thanks in advance.

At the moment P135LS is a better buy, as you get the same performance/more mileage at much lower price and sharp handling is an added plus. I guess, changes in August are only going to be cosmetic just like the ones on P220. May be it's better to wait for couple of weeks as it's not a long time.

Yes, this was my confusion too....but once you sit on P135 LS you will forget everything else....such is the response of the throttle...
I will settle for nothing else...

You are on a pretty tight schedule, buddy! you want to cover 470 kms in 8 hours not realistic unless it's all on 4-lane highways.

Coming to your question P135LS can happily maintain speeds between 80-95 even with pillion i.e. when rpm is between 7000-8000 rpm, i've covered 360 kms in a day, but do account for breaks in schedule.

I have covered 650 kms in 10 Hours with average speeds of 90-95 kmph with appropriate breaks in between. So 470 kms in 8 hours very is achievable; if one has highway experience and ofcourse if the road conditions permit.

Wow, that's some distance you covered there in 10hrs .. of course , road conditions should permit that in first place

                        *For me anything between 70-110kmph

I have to travel 470 km in a day..
                        I want to cover it within (5 a.m. - 1 p.m.) the same day..
                        Plan it..Make it simpler!
                        So 470kms in 8hrs...
                        Ride for 205kms 1st 3hours-Avg. Speed 68kmph.
                        Take half an hour break..
                        Ride for 205kms another 3hours-Avg. Speed 68kmph.
                        Take half an hour break..
Within the last hour you can reach the destination at Avg. Speed 60kmph.

Sounds simple eh ? Nah its not !

Everything depends on how you can ride and which route you are taking....whatever the ride it may be..emergency or pleasure..nothing should be more important than your life..ride safe !

Thought about it alot but gave-up due to lack of time and my LAZY nature. I am not looking for that CERTIFICATION from Iron-butt, but instead want to try something immature like 2000 kms in 24 hrs (I own a P180 UG4) just for the sake of inner satisfaction. Too much to ask for! Is'nt it?

P.S: Those are nice pictures of your bike, shows your love for biking. Putting those mud-guards off must have been a MUDDY idea, especially the front mudguard removal must give you a nice dirty bath everytime you cruise in rains.

                            • wassup guys?

I just gave my ride for its first service, done aroud 600km so far.. i know i should have given it once i touched 500, but i couldnt!

thankfully i gave it today, and i should get it in the evening.

Once i do around 2000km on this, i'm planning for a chennai-bangalore-chennai trip

@nin - Does or did you ride heat up like hell during the running in period? once i went for a 12km drive, a lil bit of water on the engine and it vanished!! it was so hot!

a local mechanic said that the carb could be tuned for a richer mixture, but then he also told me that i shouldnt mess with it until i've crossed 2000 km. what do you say nin?
                              Why Biking?
Because all other sports need only one BALL!!

                              • Ride for 205kms 1st 3hours-Avg. Speed 68kmph.
                                continuosly 205 kms..

                                What i had planned is..
New delhi to agra.. 3 hours (184 kms)

Agra to Etawah .. 2-2.5 hours (122 kms)

Etwah to Kanpur .. ~3 hours (152 kms)

All of this is to be covered on NH2.. which is in pretty good shape..

                                Though (5 a.m. - 1 p.m.) was an approximate guess..

Now, 12 Aug - 15 Aug is leave.. so going back to hometown..
                                adventure + home..

I am worried about engine overheating.. that is why i have asked the query.. can P135 sustain that long..
Also, i dont like to rip the bike.. i can cover long stretches on almost constant speed.. so was bit cautious about engine overheating..
Currently using.. VOLVOLINE 4T PREMIUM engine oil..

As far as i have read the discussion.. going on 70~75kmph.. on NH2
10-15 minutes break after every 80-90kms..

One thing i would like to ask more.. bike is just serviced (~80 km) till 12 AUg it will not be more than ~200 kms.. so should the engine oil be changed for the journey..

@ NIN.. congrats bhai for the mod... SX ENDURO yaad aa gai by god..
