Most things on a bike need running in, it will get better as you ride. If you are really worried that the disc screeching sound is in fact hampering front wheel movement, do a simple experiment, ride around a few kms and use only rear brakes, so that the only brake force on the front disc is due to the screeching sound/less free rotation factor. then check temperature of the disc immediately after you stop.(Be careful at this step. If there is really something wrong, try not to burn your fingers.) If the disc is hot, you have a problem. If not, feel free, you are good to go...Originally posted by YoungBoy_220 View PostCould someone please tell me how to check the front Disc brake fluid level. I can not see anything through the inspection window provided. Should I throw some bright light on the window to see it or what ?
My front wheel was not rotating that freely as the rear wheel and a slight sound was coming from the disc like the pads were getting constantly rubbed by the disc when the wheel is rotated by hand with bike on centre stand. I took it to service centre yesterday. Firstly, they told that it is normal for wheels fitted with disc brake and refused to check the problem at all. But, after a little bit of coaxing, one mechanic took my bike inside and opened the whole black thing (I don't know what it is called) on the disc and inserted a screw driver in the opening, i.e., the place which hugs the disc, and did something (maybe increased the space between the disc pads a bit) and then he fitted it back. He then gave a hard rotation to the wheel with his hand and said see now it is moving more freely than before. Ya, truely the wheel rotation got a bit more free than before but still a little sound is coming from the disc to which the mechanic said that as it is new, this sound is coming and after running for few hundred kms. and usage of the disc brake, the sound would go normally. But, I was not convinced and took my bike home. Could anybody here please confirm me that the little sound on disc and a little not free nature of the front wheel is normal for a new bike run only 50 km till now ?
P.S.: I was worried about similar things too when i got my bike. Then using the above experiments, i concluded, its not a big deal...Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Thanks for your reply. I will perform the experiment as mentioned by you today. Since, it is my first bike, so maybe, am over-reacting on minor issues. After a few days, I will also conclude like you that it's not a big deal.....Originally posted by antz.bin View PostMost things on a bike need running in, it will get better as you ride. @ Youngboy
Congrats for the impressive purchase..
The mechanic just pushed the caliper pistons inside with a screw driver to make the rotation free. And in a disc brake the rubbing sound is normal. Just get used to it.

Yesterday, when I tried to start the bike with kick start it didn't start for 3-4 kicks. Then I used the self starter, and it got started. Then, I cut off the engine and then again tried kick start and this time it started on one kick. Don't know what happened and whether it is cold start issue or not ! ! !Originally posted by KARIZMATIC View Post@ young boy
are u facing any cold start issues???
also one OT question, how to put watermarks on photos using photoshop???
I am not so well conversant with Photoshop, so don't know how to put watermark on photos in photoshop. Btw, I used "Visual Watermark" software to put watermarks on the pics posted by me.sigpic

Ya, I was quite surprised to see this thing...kick failing.....and self working. This is somewhat new from other bikes. But, I would like to say that the self starter is very good and responsive as compared to P150 UG IV.Originally posted by happybiking View PostNow thats something new...usually when electric start fails to crank up we use kick...

Once I complete the run-in, I would love to drag it with my friend's P150 UG IV.
Same thing on zma-r too ! ! !Originally posted by anmol_1990 View Postit happened to me when i got my zma-r,,,, it never started wid kick for first one month and i used self everytime and it starts at first attempt only...

The self is more responsive than the kick, maybe it is made to be so as they know no one is going to use the kick unless extremely necessary and everybody will use the self only everytime. Hope, this issue gets ok with time.sigpic

Today, I went for a brief ride through our city with my friend as pillion. We rode for about 30 km, then his mother called and we had to return. The experience was nice except for two minor problems.
1) There is some sound (like kach kach....) coming from the rear suspension when we encountered potholes and bumps. Is this sound coming because the bike is new ? Can I do something (like lubricate or any other thing) to stop the sound which is very irritating ?
2) When I use the rear drum brake some tak tak sound is coming (from where, I don't know). Is there any thing I can do to get rid of it ?
Please, some senior and experienced members give me advice on this..........sigpic
