has anyone tried this or ah................. even longer trip.
let me know your experience and tell me how i should get prepared for this coz this is my first.
iam planing to drive from coimbatore hmm...... to coimbatore starting with the palakkad via the costal kerala and through the thick forest of the charming eastern ghats towards the end of the trip and........ home("The manchester of south india")
and.....
This is my route:
1) Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu ----> 0km
2) Palakkad, Kerala -----------> 53.1km
3) Thrissur, Kerala ------------> 118.6km
4) chalakudi,Kerala ------------>149.8km
5) Vypin, Kerala --------------->190.5km
6) Ernakulam, Kerala------------>211.5km
7) Kochi, Kerala --------------->225.6km
8) Cherthala, Kerala------------> 259km
9) Kottayam, Kerala ----------->290.3km
10) Kumily, Kerala (thekkady)---->398km
11) Munnar, Kerala -------------> 514km
12) Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu------> 618km
13) Palani, Tamil Nadu----------->685km
14) Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu ----->795km (home)

Totalling a huge almost 800km trip.
And the split up:

-------->50% through hills -401km
-------->30% through plains -240km
-------->20% through costal kerala -154km

And according to me i should be able to complete this in 16 hours at an average of 50km/hr but i like to red line when ever i get a chance so this time may even reduce.

so as iam a first timer, i would like some advice on this.

And iam planning to do it for this christmas

now u may ask y this christmas coz by then my 2nd service will be over and iam gona switch to motul fully synthetic.
But now it is runing on the junk oil from the service centre.
and it is pitch black already, has done only 1300k since it was changed for first service.and my bike has done 1900k now.

How much of an increase is the performance?

Hey guys is it possible identify the grade of the engine oil after draining, I mean weather it is 20w40 or 20w50?

Guys, managed a top whack of 114 Km/h today, the max it was going to 9000 RPM and refusing to go beyond that.
After this speed run i noticed smoke from the exhaust when I halted the vehicle, it was foul smelling......
Is any thing wrong with the bike?
But on the +ve side the engine became a little smoother or I felt it to so.....

but I believe K&N filters are only for powerful bikes like Karizma & P220.. isn't it??

smoke and foul smell ?!?! did you notice any rat get into your engine ??

jokes apart...i myself have done about 131kmph at 10.5-11k without any problems with ease(no vibes..no feel of falling short of breath)...and that too within the run in period(despite knowing its not good for the engine in the long run)...

can you tell me whats your odo reading(kms your bike has run) and when all servicing was done? more importantly if the filter,carb was cleaned properly...

also mention which fuel do you use...

1stly..very much doable on this bike too...but i cant tell you about the road conditions there...

2ndly why do you want to hurry so much ?? planning for a saddlesore later on ?? if its a practice for that...go on...else i would recommend do that in 2 or more days...would be more fun...

You have taken it too 11k rpm,
I thought our bikes had a rev limiter which kicks in at 10.5k.............

Last servicing was done at 5k km, oil changed at 6k km, dont know about the carb but filter seems to be clean.
and I use the regular unleaded fuel mostly from BPCL bunks.......

you are right i was planning for a saddlesore but to my badluck my parents said no to this trip they said "u are not ready for this try all ur adventures when ur little more older" but it is not wrong on their part too, because all parents tend to be more conservative about their children and my parents are not an exception. but i have planned to do this with out their knowledge may be some day later.
