Tip of the Day

Who’s behind me?

Keep checking those mirrors for traffic and situation behind you. The RVM’s give a good field of view for vehicles following some distance behind. For those closer, you need to turn your head and use your peripheral vision.

Would suggest to upgrade your battery 9ah and go for 55/60w bulb. You can choose from Philips Premium to Philips Xtreme Vision again depends on your preference/cost etc.

    2) Neutral keeps lighting up even in 3rd ,4th ,5th gears.
Actually this should be the switch need to be checked. Remember, if the switch needs to be replaced, engine needs to be opened up.

    5) The bike needs choke for starting and idle warming up for 20-30 seconds for hiccup-less ride. Needs choke in the evening too. But I am not much bothered with this. It is natural for cold engine.
Using choke is natural, however, I'm running on 3.5 turn on AFR and have never felt to use choke often. I take out my ZMA only during weekend rides, I turn on fuel tap and kick start my bike without using choke, Max 2 kicks and she comes to life.

Also I would like to know what to check and change on the bike near the 20k odo reading.
If I were you would go check and replace the following:-

    1. Tyres
    2. Consumabales like cables - Accelerator and Clutch
    3. Front and rear brake shoe/pads
    4. Clutch plates
    5. Chain sprocket kit
    6. Go for G-Power plug (tried and tested here and costs 140/-) - Some may go for Iridium Plug (500/-), personally I dont like the expensive ones, cause I fell they're less VFM.

What to look out from servicing?
    1. Carb cleaning
    2. Tappet adjustment
    3. Chain tensioner
    4. Valves clearance.
    5. Fork

Seniors, please feel free to share your thoughts if I had missed any.

Aswin, I don't know how loud is the Tractor horn that you are using, but I found the Karizma twins are decent and louder enough, and at the same time, doesn't cause much sound pollution. I don't want to use those loud Bosch horns and irritate people and help in building more noise pollution.

If you feel the Tractor horns are decent and not very loud enough, then I will go for it.

    1. Comparison between the Zen's Roots Windtone and ZMA's Tractor horn.(I told ya, the Tractor Horns are loud yet decent.)

    2. Sound of my Cosworth.

    3. The weird noise my tank makes, pay special attention.

The Motul 3100 20w40 has been my favorite till date! Its a mineral oil and costs around Rs.250.
Picked up a can of Motul 3100 GOLD 20w50 last week for Rs320. Its again full mineral.
Recently changed to Shell AX5 20w40. So this Motul has to wait for sometime!

The noise is coming from the float I suppose.

I know its the float, and thats whats irritating me. Knowing the root cause and being helpless cause I cant do anything about it. So guess am going to learn to live with it.

And you wont believe what SVC said, its normal and warranty cant be claimed. Only if the tanks full and noise comes it can be considered as a manufacturing defect, so am patiently waiting for someone to explain to me, HOW THE HELL WILL IT MAKE NOISE WHEN THE TANKS FULL!!!
The SVC people are getting stuppider by the minute.
