Is it just in my mind or something may have gone wrong. Should I go to ASC to get it checked and if so what should I ask them to inspect?
Depending on the vertical height and steepness of the speed breaker, the impact may or may not damage the Alloy Wheels.Put the bike in main stand, ask someone to hold the bike's back down so that the front wheel is lifted off ground. Rotate the front wheel and see for yourself if there is any vertical or lateral movement...Repeat the same for the back wheel also .You will know for sure if your wheels are bent or not...You can also take it to SVC and get it checked. Each wheel will cost more than 5,000/-to replace.

            • @Amit:- I remember you told me about the rubber washers during my KA trip. Since your friend had already has on his bike, can you find out if there is any specific brand to ask to zero down on the fitment?

I guess since washers are supposed to withstand the rigors of oil any washer that catches your fancy will do fine . Just make sure it looks fine aesthetically .
And won't it be a better idea to put washers on both sides of the visor ?

Well the real credit should go to Shashi. I bought the bike from him last july. It had 32k kms on the odo then. It was in top shape except for some tuning issues and panel problem. Its a 2007 feb model. I have clocked 18k Kms since then and the bike was lying idle for almost 3 months.

Most of the time i have used HH oil. Only once or twice honda oil.

Cam chain has'nt troubled me at all. Its still on stock. have changed the chain sprocket twice. The 1st one had few issue's, so i changed it after 15k kms. Disk pads, i really dont have an idea. But this is the 3rd one in the past 18k kms. All are RTR pads!

Its very comfy to ride after my 5months stint with P220. Only problem is that i get around 23-26kmpl on the highways post 110kmph. Rest no problem at all!

The good 'ol Zma is still one of the best tourers in our country today. AT 82k OTR, it just can't be beat when it comes to reliability and performance rolled into one weak-body-paneled package

                    Cheers !

But those 2 km are embarassing even moped overtake me at that time. Also my friend who owns a P220 says he doesn't suffer any such inconsistencies.
2km is a really short distance, so just let the moped overtake you till then. If you want to shorten this distance, you can start the bike and let it run in neutral for say 10-15 seconds. I usually idle the bike for 5 seconds or just go out without any neutral-warmup. Because whenever I take the ZMA out, I purposely ride the bike really slowly and do this for a kilometer or two @ ~35kmph, and enjoy the low speed growl. Helps me settle to the "biker" mode.

Congrats on completing such a long run without issues! I'm sure it would continue serving you in same way for years to come.

PS: RTR rear view mirrors on ZMA - please let us know if it can be done. You promised that you'd tell.

This mod has been done by an xBhpian, here is the guide http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...r-project.html.

The total cost sums up to about Rs. 5000. Expensive or not, you need to decide for yourself. A normal pipe handlebar for a ZMA costs a about Rs. 270.

Apart from that, when a bike crashes/spills, if the impact is too much on the handle bars, the clipon type bars might snap/break making it impossible to ride. Pipe type bars usually get bent, but would let you ride the bike to your house or mechanic. That's one major con about clipon bars if you can call it one, and this is based on the opinion of some users here. Please make good use of search feature in future.

                            • @prashk: I do idle for 15- 20 seconds in morning and ~ 10 seconds in other times before riding. And thanks for the links.

@psr. I checked the rims, they don't look bent. Just that the front wheel is not moving as freely as the back but that I think is because of disc in front. I will ask the ASC to check for alignments when I next go to them.
