Since your bike is new it may tuned for lean AFR and thus this mileage. What is your ODO reading by the way?

Good to hear on the mileage. As commented above, might have set AFR lean. This bike is not for mileage, so be happy even if you have some drop later on. I just enjoy the ride and keep filling it when it is fuel runs low.

when i bought the bike i was not expecting more, nobody takes a karizma for economy right i was expecting something in the range of 33- 35 since i am a teenager and filling petrol depends on the pocket money i get and for a 223 cc bike this economy is just awesome i am expecting a drop after the second service though

The rider of the bike usually determines the FE of most bikes, excepting in some rare cases of engine problems.Earlier on most of us treat the bike with Kid's gloves, but later on even the top speed isn't enough. It is esp., true of the ZMA due to it's smooth and reliable engine, and the stability at high speeds which inspires confidence...It is the same case with Ninja 250, CBR 250.I guess only the 600cc class of Riders will have some satisfaction of revving the bike and achieving scary speeds....like the owner of a Kawasaki ZZR 1400 cc complaining of not able to attain the max speed of the bike ..and the max he could do was only 300 Kmph.

So FE is dependent on how you twist your right Wrist.

The yellow light on the speedo is from multiple yellow SMD led's. You can see them if you open the speedo. The board is embedded with all these smd led's. If you want to change it to white I think you will have to disconnect them or cover them with some opaque object and place some white led's inside. I do not think you can replace the yellow SMD's with white ones cos as you know SMD's are very tiny. So you can try disconnecting them or blocking that light and plonking some white Led's into it. Don't know how far it will work out. Any one else has any other suggestions?

I think there should not be smd led in 2005/06 , check owner manual , if there are simple t10 yellow bulbs similar to parking are used , then its simple you need to just reach to bottom of speed to hunt the light socket & change the yellow bulb to white led

My bad!! My 2005 ZMA got the ZMA-R makeover and so did my speedo. So guess the speedo setup will also be different with the old ZMA's.

There are no differences in the Speedo./RPM assembly between the old and new Karizma...If there were any conventional bulbs used the illumination will be uneven, and in 7 to 8 years of use the bulb would definitely have fused, due to ageing and vibes.

Yup, definitely, and if you'r referring to the patch sort of led's thats used for mobile keypad illumination, then they can be switched. You can get the replacement led's online or from local electronic shops. When I got my N3330 I took it to a local mob shop and replaced the illumination led's, the techies use a device similar to the soldering iron, but way smaller, its used both for removing the led and replacing it as well. After replacement A small gells applied to the soldered part. Takes about 30mins.

                            • Mates, My place is @ T.Nagar, Chennai - does anyone know of where (shop/area) it is possible for me to get a carb insulator for my 08' ZMA-R?

The existing one is leaking air causing engine rev's to be all over the place.
I've patched it up with Quickfix for now

HH as usual dont seem to stock this and i've just taken my bike out of a week long service for fried electricals as a result of installing HID kit

                              Cheers!
