Last time I filled Gulf Pride 4 T Plus it was golden yellow, and this time I have used HONDA 20W40 mineral, 200/- per Liter and again Golden Yellow and as good as the Gulf...I don't know who is getting duped , you or me ....

I am using JASO MA2 type 20w 40 its good too . I am sure its not fake oil. Maybe JASO MA has different color.

Good life card

guys i brought my bike in jul'11 n filled the form for good life card in aug '11.
since its 2mnths nw i hav nt yet received the good life card...wht is the period of time we get it n does it hav any advantages...pls reply ....

I bought in Nov' 10, yet to receive... and still my life is good

bt my showroom guy told me tht i will get discount on service n parts n also gifts on completion of points

so shuld i go wit gulf 20w40 or honda 20w40...as my bike is new and going to change the oil grade for the 1st time...

Tappet sound's the other way around, it goes away when hot. The sound you'r talking about is the cylinder pin sound. i.e if its chil chil and increases with throttle.

Technically it will void warranty, but who the hell's going to know...

The last time I stressed my ZMA before giving to SVC top speed is 125~130Kmph(not sure its the top cause just a millimeter before touching 130Kmph the bike stalled.) with pillion(110Kgs me + 70Kgs Pillion.) i.e with my busted cylinder kit, waiting for run-in to get over so can test the limits of the new cylinder kit.

Yup... With a total load of 180Kg's and hard braking from 120 to 0 flat, the 'U Clamp' kisses the front mud guard. But no worries, cause it can be overcome by reversing the position of the U Clamp, but I didint do it yet, cause I kinda fell in love with the thud sound you hear when that happens.

Sir, from a recent talk I had with a friend who owns an Oil company, I've learnt that the colour of oil's have nothing to do with the performance, Its just a colour code used for identifying the oil. Current code is.
2T - Green.
4T - Red.

Not fake, cause the same oil I purchase from Gulf retail outlet is also red.

But for me it was the other way around, I dont think valve noise disappears when bike gets hot, it is the other way around. When engine gets hot valves will get expanded thus making the valve noise( if its not too loose) but if valve setting is wrong by a greater margin then it can be heard on cold starts also. If the noise gets reduced on heating up of the engine then its probably tensioner sound. Because when engine gets heated there will be better circulation of oil thus the sound gets reduced.

Well one thing about HH ads is that they dont make any sense both ZMA and ZMR ads . ZMR ad is worse chasing a tornado to get a cap the moment Hrithik catches it the sky gets clear . Bajaj is far ahead in making ads.

First and foremost the tensioner sound reducing with better circulation of oil is crap, just think, how will you make a loose chain stop making noise by just lubing it. And once again the tensioner is at the base of the cylinder kit and has a rich supply of oil considering the rest of the parts. So that theory does'nt sum up. The chain further expands when hot right, so that results in more noise.

And you'r right about the expanding part, but the difference is, that when it expands the extra gap gets filled up and hence no sound. The valve noise/tappet noise is'nt caused by the expansion of valves. Its caused by the thingis inside the valves comming up and down and hitting the tappet adjuster nut. So when hot the thingis get longer and so does the tapet adjuster nut, hence sound reduces. We had a practial session of the above when we did the DIY on my ride. Since the TDC part messed us up, we had to make our own calculations and for that we had to frequently power on and off the engine, and everytime the engine started getting hot the sound started to reduce, we could clearly hear everything cause the tank was off.
