If you had given the reason for your query ,and typed the content in flowing English like you have done now,you would have got better results.Originally posted by catchcheetah View PostHi psr sir,
Thanks for your very kind reply, you are 100% right sir. yeah the mileage varies from person to person, riding style, and other affecting conditions. I accept what all u said above.
i just asked u fellow ppl " whats ur best ever Recorded mileage" ? this is my only question.
this question arised for me because while searching in Wikipedia.."HH karizma is a tried and tested model.....The Karizma is reported to have an overall fuel economy of 40 km/l (90 mpg or 2.4 l/100 km), with a best of 50 km/l (120 mpg) and a worst of 28 km/l....."
So from that only i am very keen that anyone has attained this best mileage figure.
Thats it sir. also dont misunderstand that bike is under lean running. i got one of the best performance figure in (0-60 and 0-100)Kmph.also with both best and worst mileage figure.
Sorry sir if i said anything wrong above,
Once again Thank u very much for ur response sir
Regards,
jagadish
The best mileage for a Karizma is only by the ZMR where people have got 47 to 48 Kms per liter.Go through the ZMR thread patiently and you will get the answer.
A good Karizma -R with sane riding will give 32 to 33 in city(50 to 60 Kmph) and 42 to 43 on the highway (80 to 100 Kmph).
Most of the members here are getting the same FE...
Test conditions have controlled environment wherein there will be no frequent stop ,start and traffic, and so the bike may give better FE , but real life situation is totally different.
My 2007 bike gives 31 city and 41 highways. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Apart from the responses already posted here's some more ..
What's your "very great mileage"?
What's your "gear shifting pattern"?
What year is your bike?
( Guess I / we can get that if you've Introduced yourself-gotta check)
Here , we share ideas and data
- and we try to help each other .
It would be very welcome if you try to share

Just out of curiosity - how did it breakOriginally posted by Akshaysharma View PostHey all pls help me my front no. plate bolts(both) which below the headlght are broken as the hole where the bots are fitted have been broken i have tried to stick the no. plate through fevi quick but its not sticking . so pls help me and if i have need to change the headlght assmbly pls tell me its original and outside market price or if i can get only headlgt assmbly plastic or any other way.

We certainly can understand what you're asking - but it's more difficult to read than plain english . SMS lingo is not frowned upon here , it's not discouraged , and while it's not a crime that warrants the maximum penalty , it certainly is not welcome ...

thanks sriram from your kind reply.
i just asked wats the perfect mileage both on the city as well as on the highways without ripping in karizma's, and mention ur gear shifting pattern.
also mentioning the year of purchase.
See psr's reply below

The details you had asked for varies from person to person and even in the same bike from time to time, and hence a clear indication is vain and inconsistent.
Like you said you are getting high mileage with Karizma then be prepared for engine problems due to lean running.

i get 32-36 in city and approximately 42 in highway (tested in recent trip). I think these are decent figures. Mine is stock except AFR 4 turns which i did manually. Observed alot of difference in throttle response after shifting to 4 turns. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO STOCK ie. <4 turns. (Dont know whether its the stock setting for zma). By the way wats your machine's miliage since everyone are requesting and keen to know that.???Originally posted by catchcheetah View PostI know v are all gr8 karizma lovers.....testing our bikes at various situations by various mods............bt in this i need a very clear answer......

I think 2011 version ZMA gives more economy due to more efficient engine( BS 3 standard). My bike gives me 40 above (sane riding) in city conditions. gear shifts at 3-3.5 k rpm.
My worst was 31- while checking top speed, i could only do 120 kmph(with pillion) and once i filled extrapremium and ripped moderately
My best was anyways above 47 - while on a highway trip of total 436 kms since it was run-in period kept speed between 50- 70 with occasional bursts to 80. Couldn't check the exact figure

I usually rip a bit in the city.with this kind, I think this figure is quite decent and happy. in the recent trip to Bangalore I always kept the bike revv above 80kmph and so got this (42 in highway). Happy!"safety will be the sturdy child of terror, and survival the twin brother of annihilation"

i don't think its only the figure of 2011 version ZMA because mine is aug 2010 its also (BS 3 standard as far as i know) and it give's me fe 38-40 in city at speed of 40-60 and gear shifts at 3-3.5 k rpm .But will surely check the spark plug tomorrow as psr sir said.Originally posted by Vishakh View PostI think 2011 version ZMA gives more economy due to more efficient engine( BS 3 standard). @catchcheetah: Currently I have no idea what mileage my bike gives. I just fill them when its low on fuel. But I did tried once to see how much kmpl I can get. The figures were taken during my daily commute to and fro from office which comprises of about 65% highway and 35% city. So I cannot give a break up of city/highway figures but the total sum.
The mileage figures were taken from tank reserve to reserve. Running period was about a week.
Max speed about 65kmph. Kept rev below 4k rpm at all times. Be it city or highway. 1st gear or 5th gear.
My bike (Zma-R), I may add, is a tad lighter than stock. Meaning, no saree guard, no chain guard, no kicker. They are surprisingly quiet heavy combined.
Almost forgot to mention, I weigh 63 kilos.
Bike condition. Every component and settings were stock as it came from factory.
The figure I got .. 50+. Maybe 52-53.Last edited by kaynmantis; 10-17-2011, 01:32 AM.

My least mileage was 23Kmpl, one day while going to college with my usual pillion, there was no traffic at all and there was this white govt Altis, we went at it at full throttle, and all the way from KLM to KNPY was at WOT.
My best mileage is 48Kmpl, aquired when I shifted to iridiums and wanted to check the mileage by running a constand 80Kmph i.e 5K Rpm.
Bike has been doing 4 Turns of the AFR since purchase.
Edit -
My current mileage figure is 30Kmpl on highways, dont know why, but I guess its due to change in riding style.Last edited by ashwinprakas; 10-17-2011, 05:07 AM.Motorcycling Experience:

Hi kaynmantis ;
Thanks for your reply,
ha wat u above mentioned is wat i expected from the other xbhpians.
>50+ in karizma is a gud way show or indicate that your bike is in full health.
But n this case i also tell you to try out some performance related activities, ie.(0-60,0-100 timing, Top speed, etc ) such that you can get that ur bike is opted for both the way of riding.
btw, why u removed the in stock items , u said u fell its lighter now,
haha wats wrong with u to remove the kicker. The presence of kicker in zma has a very gud plus point, compared to other bikes in 200-225 cc segment.
Also presence of chain guard is too helpful,
It protects the bike from dust, mud and various other items, if u are in a dusty area, also its a maintenance free.
also as u said u have removed ur chain guard, becareful that u lubricate often as soon as tht grease drys out.
only gud point u said above is the removal of ur saree guard. yeah if u dont need the use of saree guard u can remove it straight away. !
Hey also thanks for ur kind reply, btw enjoy riding ur zma kaynmantis !
