Today i went to the dealer to check the handlebar weights of ZMR. Compared to zma its very heavy and each costs around 100 Rs along with the longer screw. The dealer had only one weight so i did'nt buy it but he was not sure if it'll fit. Fixing this will surely make the handle bar more stable. Has anyone tried this?

Hi all. I've been away for a long time, hope everyone and their Karizmas are doing great.
Today I gave my ZMA for chain/sprocket change, supposedly a timing chain replacement (the timing chain sound has been very high lately with a mix of chil chil and a mild, rubber-hitting-metal sound, dub dub?), general service, oil change and a fibe-joint-riveting work (looks cool plus no fiber vibes). After talking to the mech for a good deal of time, I gave him a can of Motul 20W40 3000V and spoke to him about oils for a bit. About synthetics and minerals and Motul and other brands. This is the same guy who worked on MAXzma's ZMA.
Getting it back tomorrow, can't wait for the new version of my bike.

Someone in xBhp ahs already fitted ZMR handles on Zma. Seems some modifications/changes are required. And it cost hell of a lot. Not in the mood to search for the postOriginally posted by shadu View PostToday i went to the dealer to check the handlebar weights of ZMR. . For that matter some dude, again in xBhp has modified his Zma entirely to look like the Zmr sans the dash.

Put 3.0 * 18 tire in the front,it will increase weight in the front.Originally posted by shadu View PostI want to increase the weight in the front of my karizma R. I feel its too light in the front.

I am aware of that and fitting that ZMR handle will prove too costly. I am only talking about fixing the handle bar-weights of ZMR to ZMA, to make it more stable. I am not sure if the handle bar-weights will mount onto ZMA.Originally posted by kaynmantis View PostSomeone in xBhp ahs already fitted ZMR handles on Zma. I guess not ... there is a difference between sprung weight and unsprung weight I guessOriginally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostPut 3.0 * 18 tire in the front,it will increase weight in the front.

When you change the tire to a heavier one , the weight on the handle which you experience doesn't change much - what changes is the footprint on the road and the load the tire gives to the fork tube(when it goes up and down on a bump/road-irregularity , the tire moves different because of it's weight -the tire which moves is heavy) . That is different from what happens if you add the same amount of weight to the handle bar / front end upwards of the fork tube -the weight is there , but it presses on the tire and the tire is still as free to move on a bump/irregularity as before since it isn't heavier than before .
As I said earlier , I do have problem putting mind to paper
( Didn't study any theory!!!
)
@ psr , need some help here , please !!!
Another thing- last day when Vineeth and I were fitting the HID to my steed , he saw a wire connector that wasn't in his bike . Can any one please identify this connector - what it does ?

Nope stock is 2.5 Turns. Im doing 4 turns cause thats the best setting there is.Originally posted by vivekarizma View Post@Ashwin: Bike has been doing 4 Turns of the AFR since purchase.
were u referring to the stock setting or you did it manually??
LOl... Chil Chil when hot is caused by cylinder pin kissing the cylinder wall.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostFollow Aswin Sound technique, might help. He has defined sounds to a problem areas. Chill Chill is definitely in his list.
If you don't find any abnormality or resulting poor performance, why bother/worry?
Happy riding!
There are two remedies.
1. If under warranty - Get the cylinder kit replaced.
2. If not under warranty - use a really thicker grade oil that'll help reduce the noise, but it will still pop up sooner or later.
Hi sir, Me doing 4Turns. Its rich, but sparkplug says engines running hot.Originally posted by psr View PostThe STOCK AFR setting for Karizma till 2011 is 3.5 turns and from 2011 it is 2.5 turns..
While the former gives better off the block acceleration and less engine heat, for the sake of mileage HH had made it 2.5 turns later. This leads to higher engine heat and poor acceleration...
But the strange things is with 3.5 turns the mileage drop from 2.5 turns is negligible( 2 Kms per liter) and not worth sacrificing ,in terms of heat and FE.
The difference in terms of performance from 4 to 3.5 is also negligible, but gives an additional 1 km per liter FE.
Using Iridium's btw.

When did i say I don't know about AFR setting ?Once again someone else's posts are being quoted as mine...I am getting fed up with this..
I guess i have to stop posting and helping others, to safe guard myself in this thread.

.
Do you mean there is no other technical changes in ZMA R 2011 ?
The self starter motor is smaller, The battery is 6 AH, the tires are with uneven tread pattern, and horn output is low. These are the changes I had observed..have you observed any other changes ?
replies are in bold.
3.5 turns for old ZMA and 2.5 turns for new 2011 ZMA....how i know ? i had worked on ZMAs from 2005 to 2011 for various reasons, and had observed this.My info is actual hands on experience and not hearsay. I am also quoting different FE for different AFR setting..at least that should tell you something.
Welcome to the world of ZMA's. Just kidding.Originally posted by RMV View Postyesterday I filled up the fuel tank with 300 buck but there no indication on the fuel indicator????
