But before directly jumping on the CDI I'd suggest you inspect the sparkplug and the distributor cap first.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostReplace the sparkplug every 10000kms.Replace and see the difference.
Thank u very much to both for the CDI part. And Aneesh, believe me I'm trying hard to convince them that a spark plug change is what I want since 12k kms or so but they are like "no, no need to change" I say, "I just want for my peace of mind, do it!" and they say, "trust me Sir, abhi chalega chalao isko"Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostHere it is

Is it possible to swap ZMA's transmission??? i.e for a 6 speed or maybe a more sturdier one.???Heard this kind of query somewhere else also, and I think, if done, it might boost the top end of the bike "without" losing the initial pick-up for which most of us would go for.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostMaximum 5k I guess.
So, if we directly substitute the gearbox of a 6 speed trans. bike into our Karizma, will it be compatible? Will it affect the gear ratios, if it does then the above fact maybe TRUE or FALSE depends.

Hi, there is another good thing I want to go for.
I want a projector lamp setup for my Karizma R(not the 2011's model), with HID bulb.
And I dont want to loose any time between hi/lo but its okay for me to lose some seconds for warming up the HID bulb when it is turned ON...
What are the various possibilities?
I want a good setup so trusted bulbs only, like Philips? I want white light, so 4300K? If I want to use flasher in the day time also, then is it not possible in the HID setup?
Please don't forget to mention the total cost that will be required in the setup.
I want just bright light with good spread and throw, I've tried the 55w Philips Xtreme Vision and the reflector started getting corroded above the bulb. So I want to swap with the setup I'm asking for, as soon as possible.
Thanks and Diwali Wishes to all.

You may get it back after some time....my 2007 21,000 Kms run Karizma got the problem 4 months back and since it is not under warranty ,took the slide out,and cleaned the coating GENTLY off,and set the carb back in place. So far so good for the past 2,000 + Kms...seems bad quality petrol and heat peels off the coating under hot conditions.Removing the coating is the solution.Originally posted by Jdsouza81 View PostI faced the same problem about two months back. The Spark plug in Karizma can easily last for upto 15 K Kms with good petrol and timely oil change(every 2,000 Kms).

As it is the top gear ratio of ZMA is very tall at 0.8..Higher speeds are possible in 4th gear and not in 5th since 4th ratio is 1 and 5th 0.8.So a 6 gear set up is not warranted and a 5th at 0.9 ratio will help.

since the carb was changed, I have already completed about 5000+ kms, out of which 700 km was continous ripping at 110+ reaching upto 140 on the speedo for a few minutes.. hope it does not come up againOriginally posted by psr View PostYou may get it back after some time....my 2007 21,000 Kms run Karizma got the problem 4 months back and since it is not under warranty ,took the slide out,and cleaned the coating GENTLY off,and set the carb back in place. So far so good for the past 2,000 + Kms...seems bad quality petrol and heat peels off the coating under hot conditions.Removing the coating is the solution.

Wow... That was smart of HH, I always wondered why they skipped 6th gear when they brought the CRF230 to us.As it is the top gear ratio of ZMA is very tall at 0.8..Higher speeds are possible in 4th gear and not in 5th since 4th ratio is 1 and 5th 0.8.So a 6 gear set up is not warranted and a 5th at 0.9 ratio will help.Motorcycling Experience:
