  • Is there any problem if the bike gets drenched in rain for an extended period cause my bike has been undergoing it since afternoon.
Adrenaline and petrol can be a lethal combination

Technically you shouldn't have any immediate problem.. But don't know if at all anything will happen in the long run. During our ride to Chikmagalur, I was riding her in the rain continuously for a couple of hours. She did not suffer from cold or fever or whatsoever!
We are miles away from the routine.

Yes the console has cover over ,sealed cover, and so water cannot enter it unless there are some cracks.....see the pictures....dismantled and assembled in 45 minutes including fairing.

Nope, it used to touch one or the other when the mech tried different things!

BTW, the rear taillight mounts seemed to have broken. It was vibrating. my mech simply put a handle grip(torn and folded) in between the taillamp and the rear mudguard. Now its fine! 400-500rs saved

In the Connector the wire next to the 2nd wire is Black and is the negative...so a capacitor between the 2nd and 3rd connector pin with + of cap going to pin 2 and -ve going to pin 3 may be attempted.

So you do think it is feasible ?

As I guessed the voltage downsizing if any will then be in the console .

I did not try to trace the circuit since I had no time and need the bike for use....The circuit board is double sided and all devices are SMD...
Now upto the Techies to do the needful for preventing reset of clock and trip values.
Thanx a lot psr for your effort and time . You have certainly saved me time , effort and mosquito bites ( by eve the dark army descends ) ! Well , now it's up to me to find a 12V rechargeable cell since I'm not that comfortable with capacitors ( frankly , know nothing about them -when I need a capacitor for some specific purpose , I go to the electronic spares shop and tell them the requirement .) If you are so sure about the circuit you posted I'll think about going ahead with it . But I'm inquiring for a 12V cell first .
Hope to post something positive in a couple of days .
Actually , how much do you think it'll cost for HH to put in such a thingy as OE ?

But very unhappy to note that your finger got crushed...I guess you did the greasing very close to the sprocket while turning the wheel, and the finger got caught in between the sprocket and chain....a very painful injury..Never use the middle finger, since it is a bit weak, and the forefinger can resist the sidewise pull of the chain, better.
Keep checking the injury every day for proper healing, and monitor for any Fever...
                      Take care,get well soon.
Sir, Its a bone injury...but not so bad....d doc in manipal himself is a biker n told me dat I can ride in 10 days if I push myself a bit .happens...d stiches vil go out in a week.

Uhh man, sorry to hear about the injury. One of my fingers has almost been eaten more than once by my ZMA rear sprocket, but always got away with no injury except a sprocket-tooth stamp on skin. It sure was painful, yours should be worse. Be super careful from now on. And I am pming you to get the shop/details about the AFR screw, I guess I should call those officials too.

                          About healing the wound, quickly:
                          1. Please don't push yourself too hard just because the doctor has said you can, though a bit of light slow warmup is good, while restricting yourself within a threshold of pain (but not before the bone has healed, which would take about 20 days to a month or a bit more, if its a fractured finger).
                          2. If its just one finger, it will get hurt now and then because of accidental impacts such as - someone shaking/holding your hands forgetting about your injury, bumping against something/someone etc. Minimize frequency of getting hurt this way - constant vigilance.
                          2. Eat as much good, nutritious and natural food as possible - leafy vegetables, other vegetables, fruits and lots of them, nuts, pulses, milk (buttermilk and paneer if you're too concerned about the fat part). Follow these, and you should heal up pretty quickly, plus will be in super shape.

                          Get well soon.

I am thinking of a suitable mod inside the console, and may be working on it later. Since the external connection goes through a transistor I thik there will be some current consumption. the battery orientation connection shown by you is ok,and should work...try a lead acid cell, with circuit like this...It will keep the lead acid battery charged.
