      • Crash Guards.

Today went to Honda showroom with hopes of returning with a suitable crash guard for my ZMA-R. I was really getting tired of the belly cowl, cause when the nuts are loose the whole bike'll make a irritating sound when its somewhere between 3.75~4K.
So coming back to the story, the Honda guys confused me with different models of CBF125 and in the mean time consulted Arun bro, and he advised its better to opt for CBZ-X crash guard cause the Dazzler and CBF125 guards kill the fairing even when theres a minor slip.
So rushed off to Hero Honda showroom Venad Automobiles, there I begged them, but they said, its off time and so they were short handed, so had to leave dissapointed.
Then was thinking about calling Aneesh to inform him of the sad news, and I accidentally stumbled upon Mr.Aiyappans's number in my contacts. He's the service manager of another Hero Honda showroom in Kollam called Hero Diya, he said he'll arrange for it and to drop by, so I raced there and was more shocked than dissapointed to find that he'd already left, and when I asked them to provide me with a CBZ-X crash guard they said they need to see my RC book, when I showed them a copy, they refused to accept it and said that they need a CBZ-X RC book, then again I left dissapointed.
So was back home, called Aneesh and informed him of the bad news, and was planning on sleeping off the rest of the day, when my 2stroke mech, called me and said he'd arranged a custom made crashguard for me, the type used in RX's, so again consulted Aneesh bro and he agreed to come with me to see it, but before that, he asked to consult Sreeram bro regarding the RX crash guard, since he's currently using one, so now im hoping Sreeram bro'l be able to answer the two questions below.

1.Is the RX guard a direct fit?, If yes were is it bolted onto?
2.Can we get a readymade one, or should it be tailored, like my mech said.?

        Additional Info.

I'm comming to think ZMA doesnt need crash guard, cause has anyone ever injured(scraping not included) their leg on a ZMA?? If yes, were you'r knees hugging the tank while it happened.??

Cause when I had a spill, Nothing happend to me, the bike took all the beating, I was hugging the tank with my knees at the moment of impact.

CBF150 is Honda Unicorn so would think CBF125 is Honda Stunner

ROFL.. Showing Original RC Book to procure CBZ-X crash guard? I have never heard of this in my whole life! Did you question why they would need to see RC book?

This is Sriram, I believe have discussed this earlier. It is a direct fit. You'll need 'U' clamp or just bolt nut should do the work. I would suggest to take the bike to mechanic with RX crash bar (if your friend's circle has one, ask him to remove to see if it goes well, ideally should go well, just to boost your confidence) and get it done.

Yeah bro, I was talking about Stunner. I said CBF125 cause when I sent a mail to Honda regarding the release date of Stunner 135, they had no clue and referred to them as CBF125 and CBF135.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but its a fact, here if we need to order parts we need to provide them with a copy of RC book.

Is there any welding or cutting necessary?

Yup, I always expect the worse. Yesterday a stray dog jumped out of nowhere onto the road. I barely missed a spill, thanks to my TEFLON induced ABS.

This crash was around 115k - 120k. The fairing protected me from getting pummeled and took the entire impact, although it disintegrated instantly, if i had my foot on the rear brakes, i would be short of one foot now. I was wearing full gear so escaped with only a minor scratch on my leg and walked away from the crash. I was not hugging the tank, i sort of jumped off as soon as i sensed the fact that i was going down.

You never know what's waiting for you out there on the roads, I say go for the crash guard.

friends can u please suggest the best battery for my ZMA_R. Should I go for maintenance free battery or the normal one. I know in this long thread my answer is hidden, but it will take time. so if u suggest ,then it will make my decision easier.

if your ZMA-R is 2011 and stock battery needs to be upgraded for fitting horns and HID...sorry not possible without much modification on the battery cage and wiring.
If your ZMA-R is before that go in for AMARON 9 AH MF with 24+24 months warranty..will cost you approximately 1,600/-.
First check and find out if the battery cage is larger or smaller..and which battery is in place now.
