For handle shaking at specific speeds, check tire wobble or Rim bend.
psr sir at his humble and helpfull best

i guess i should also upsize the rear along with the front then
also will 3.00/18 require any mods and whats the max. size for the rear that i can put w/o any mods with swingarm etc.
i am growing old, but not up!

I had asked for 9Amh battery to the shopkeeper but as you all know its a little larger than the battery box. I asked him to make the neccesary mods but he insisted that the 5Amh one won't cretae any problems. He said he had a lot of customers using 5Amh in their ZMA and they wer quite satisfied.

There is a catch as well : Currently I have 100/90 bulb in the headlight. I know it would burn off the reflector but I am searching for the phillips premium vision and would replace it as soon as I get it.Though I hardly ride the bike after sunset for the fear of getting the reflectors burnt(max 1hr in a week after sunset). Can this be the reason for the malfunctionong?

        5Ah battery with 100/90 lamp
As PSR said your battery must be almost dead by now.Change to lower rating bulb and change the battery too.

Moto D pattern is good and should give you better wet grip..In earlier posts owners have upgraded the front to 3.00 18 without issues...How did the fitting of M45 4.00 18 at the rear go ? guess there were no mods..

Front should be able to accept 3.00/18 without issues...may be Aneesh can give us a better opinion.
The M45 4.00/18 at the rear can be fitted, but it should be centered carefully...otherwise it will hit either the chain guard or rear brake stay.

100/90 watts bulb should be removed ASAP..try the 50/60 watts Philips normal Halogen if you are not able to get the Exreme Vision.
The 5 AH battery must be charged at a lower current rating than a 9 AH..but the ZMA has no such arrangement and so the battery will be over charged and is likely to fail due to current and thermal shock.

          • Too tired to post in detail.

            1. Got rid of belly cowl.

            2. Got rid of reflectors.

            3. Stunner (With cowl) crash guard added.

            4. And yes, the 'U' clamp scratches the front mudguard. Will get it cut soon.

            Total cost = Crash guard(475/-) + Fixing(30/-) + Cutting(20/-) = 525/-

Theres nothing much they'll do. Just check.

                  1. That they DONT top-up oil.

                  2. Check that they properly replace body panel's.

                  3. Check that they properly align rear wheel after tightening the chain.

                  DONE!!!

                      1. Clean Air Filter
                      2. Clean and lube Drive Chain and adjust as necessary.
                      3. Inspect and adjuct brakes if necessary
                      4. As ashwin said, never top up oil,Replace and fill with new oil.

                      6. Check Brake Fluid Level
                      7. Always check bike for damages before leaving the svc, like scratches in tank, body parts etc etc.

Yesterday onwards my bike is behaving strange. I replaced the battery to Amaron MF 5Ah 2 months back. Yesterday suddenly the tripmeter was reset to zero, the self-start ceased to work and also the rpm & the speedo needle is working diifferently. I understand that the trip-meter & self-start problem is due to some battery issue, so need to get the battery checked. But about the RPM-Speedo needle, what can be the cause. The needles are functioning freely.
Gosh, its been 4 months I have got the pre-used ZMA and since then every week some or the other issues are raised.
                        Please help me.
Excess current in charging can shorten the life of the battery.

The mods required are quite minor . Even a below average DIY person can do it (from what I've seen on the thread ) .

Sure it can be !-Just one question - did you connect a relay or did you just swap the bulbs ? 100/90 on 7ah even with relay might raise eyebrows . If you didn't connect relay , check your wiring as well . While searching for the Philips Premium , shell out @ 80/- and get an ordinary 60/55 halogen . I'm wondering whether you have any snaps taken of your h/l light spread . I'm using 60/55 halonix and use H/L at least 30 - 50 minutes daily . No problems so far .

Even if your battery ain't quite dead , it's better to replace it with at least a 7ah one . Before that , check your wiring -especially the H/L connection .

If you have a multi meter , check the voltage of the 5AH battery without starting the bike . It should be above 12V -preferably above 12.5V.
If any friends has a 7AH battery , you can connect it and see whether everything works OK .

                            ZMA doesnt have oil filter.

Point 7 can be handled by shouting and getting the damaged parts replaced.

I think Moto-D will spoil the cornering capabilities,I would say get something like M45,Sirac Street 2.75 etc.

110/90-18 can be fixed without any mods and 3.0 * 18 is optimal for front.

                              100/90 in ZMA,that too with a 5Ah battery?

100/90 watts bulb should be removed ASAP..try the 50/60 watts Philips normal Halogen if you are not able to get the Exreme Vision.
The 5 AH battery must be charged at a lower current rating than a 9 AH
Yeah,Try Philps Premium or Osram OEM Bulbs 55/60W,and You can try Exide 7Ah MF Battery with 2 Years Warranty.

Also about point 7, can you do anything about it apart from shouting if such unfortunate event happens?
Karizma has no replaceable oil filters...There is a wire mesh fliter in the drain bolt side, which can be cleaned and re-fitted....and there is a centrifugal filter inside the right side crankcase .It can be cleaned only by opening the right,Clutch side case and dismantling the filter to clean it.
Regarding scratches or damages to panel you can certainly ask for replacement within warranty..
