Re: Karizma/Karizma R
De-carbonisation is necessary only if you had engine oil leaking into combustion chamber, running engine with Rich AFR, and using adulterated fuel...If you had carbon build up enough to do de-carb., you will have engine knocking , which had appeared slowly ,with no mods or adjustments done to the bike...Originally posted by ryan.virgo View Post

Shouldn't The asc guys be able to do it since they know what the multiplexing is and what memory addresses they have to overwrite?Originally posted by psr View PostRe-setting the Kms run cannot be done since it is digital memory storage which is updated through multiplexed signal.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Not really. According to me, not all service station technicians are sent to factory to get trained to master on all areas of bike. Their aim is to do general service systematically and be more productive so they work on number of bikes. If there is even little more than the general issue, they tend to buy time from customer. They are trained well to convince the customer to change the part than look deep and rectify. That seem to be less of headache to them. The service center technicians attain 'expertise' only through experience and sometime their theory puzzles me.Originally posted by vijayvenkatesans View PostShouldn't The asc guys be able to do it since they know what the multiplexing is and what memory addresses they have to overwrite?

@experts: what should be the correct rpm when using choke. Mine is around 2.75k, but when not using choke, on hot it is around 1.5kkarizmatic

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Yes, as I've noticed, they do not take the time to troubleshoot, and if a bike has issues, they will keep it aside for a calmer time. I guess they can't help it, or have orders, given the volume of motorcycles that arrive at ASCs. I have a mechanic friend, whose garage is nearby, and it is helpful to take the bike to him and diagnose issues, and of course there is XBHP (and majorly psr ) to helpOriginally posted by SriramEfunds View PostNot really. Doesn't matter. Choke should be used to give a richer mixture to the bike for a cold start and then turned off as soon as it's idling. When hot, you can keep the idling from 1.3 to 1.5K.Originally posted by shirish View Postand let the fun begin....

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Bought a new Amaron 9AH battery for Rs 1950 today. It comes with a 4 year warranty.
The old one had conked out and did not give signs of life in spite of us trying to revive it.
I needed to cut out the rear of the battery cage to accomodate it, just bending the clamp alone did not work and caused fitting issues with the RHS cover.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
There is a third way too. Some technicians are altering the odometer reading as per your need for just 600-800 rupees. I don’t know how they are doing it. The mechanics at the SC may be able to direct you to the correct person.Originally posted by acs1207 View Post2 ways you can get it to add 25k kms- ride for 25k or put it on the main stand and turn the front wheel.

I too got the same in Aug for ~1600 (Delhi). And didn't need to do any modifications to fit. A longer screw did the job.Originally posted by AK3D View PostBought a new Amaron 9AH battery for Rs 1950 today. It comes with a 4 year warranty.

Hoping it works hassle free.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Higher taxes here apparently. We tried everything, but apparently the back is slanted (wider at the lower portion - back and shallower at the top), so the battery wouldn't fit in correctly even with bending the clamp.Originally posted by g K View PostI too got the same in Aug for ~1600 (Delhi).
