Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I was offered NISSIN brake pads for my Hunk's front brake at around Rs. 150 at a reputed shop in Kodambakkam-Valluvar kottam road.Originally posted by psr View PostTo-day I went to buy Shriram Alpine front brake pads of Karizma for a friend and was Shocked to hear OE Nissin pads were available for 250/-...Not to miss the golden offer I asked the seller to show the pads. Sure enough it was Nissin with Model no and Nissin etched correctly, but the pad material was not the same. I guess these people get the original worn pads and just stick the pad material and sell it off , as OE replacement.
So please be careful while purchasing the Brake pads with Nissin markings
I suspected the genuinity and stayed away. It didn't even have a cover, but had NISSIN imprints.

Alpine or nissin, what's the difference between those and the ones at ASC?Originally posted by psr View PostTo-day I went to buy Shriram Alpine front brake pads of Karizma for a friend and was Shocked to hear OE Nissin pads were available for 250/-...Not to miss the golden offer I asked the seller to show the pads. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I don't believe this. People are spending pages on a discussion about how many litres does a zma tank hold!! I mean, can a thread get THIS cold???? is that what biking in a zma has come down too? Or is the zma so old that folks have discussed about the bike more than the makers did, and then some.... :P

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
These guys have been doing it for quite some time now. Some of the buggers do a really neat job of it though. But you cant pinpoint which one is good because n number of people do it. Some pads work excellently while some are worst. Since there is no brand, one cant mark and go for any particular one. I tried them. Best id stick to OE or Apache onesOriginally posted by psr View PostTo-day I went to buy Shriram Alpine front brake pads of Karizma for a friend and was Shocked to hear OE Nissin pads were available for 250/-...Not to miss the golden offer I asked the seller to show the pads. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Yes, I think its the same. Even I had a bad experience with an NGK plug. It went kaput in 10-20 days.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostIf it is KK Auto, he sells OE and Delhi manufactured stuff. We need to be careful.

My Hunk is having a worn bore and burns oil. So plugs go kaput in short time. But 10-20 days is too short.
And, now I'm running on a used CHAMPION plug that the local mechanic provided and it still runs without issues.
But the shop is having almost all parts from all manufacturers and even I was able to source handle bar end cap for Hunk from them.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
ACSs give you Nissin make pads. They are the OEMs. Alplines are an alternative apart from RTRs pads and are better.Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostAlpine or nissin, what's the difference between those and the ones at ASC?

Nissin > Alpine > RTRs pads. (Performance as well as cost)Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Hi All,
Completed 2300 Kms today, Now everything is smooth. My ZMA will be tasting first tour on satday as am going to Mukteshwar trip.I am really confused whether I go for tubeless tyre or with tuff up tube in stock tyre. Whole objective is to avoid punctures and removing of wheel during highways and hills. My Uni tuff up tube never failed in entire touring of approx 20K Kms.Please suggest tubeless or tuff up tube.

A local retailer near my place, gives a an additional discount of Rs.30/- upon returning back the old brake pads.Originally posted by psr View PostTo-day I went to buy Shriram Alpine front brake pads of Karizma for a friend and was Shocked to hear OE Nissin pads were available for 250/-...Not to miss the golden offer I asked the seller to show the pads. Please check out this post, here a member has posted few pictures of locally made brake pads.
I have noticed that fake brake pads have
- painted metal backing plate.
- cheap asbestos pad material of inferior quality.
- inconsistent thickness of the brake material.
Unfortunately, the market is flooded with these fake spare parts. Some dishonest mechanics are to be blamed because they charge the customer for the full price of OE and pocket the rest.Last edited by shoeb2015; 11-19-2013, 08:24 PM.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Hi friends,
Since last oil change few days back at service center, engine oil from drain bolt is dripping. Yesterday I went to service center for this issue and their mechanic tightened the drain bolt but again today morning engine oil is dripping from drain bolt.Attached pic-
Please help me to find out what could be the reason and solution to this oil leakage.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
There is an "O" ring on the Drain Nut which must be replaced every time it is opened..failure to do so results in this kind of leak...ASC will have this spare so ask them to get it changedOriginally posted by ankit.traveller View PostHi friends,

I have been experiencing the same in my ZMR.. psr sir.. so replacing that "O" ring on the Drain Nut will solve the issue? I thought I will have to replace the Drain Nut itself and wasn't sure why there was such bad leakage..Originally posted by psr View PostThere is an "O" ring on the Drain Nut which must be replaced every time it is opened..failure to do so results in this kind of leak...ASC will have this spare so ask them to get it changed
I recently changed the oil and completed only 200 kms.. in case I want to change the Drain Nut or the 'O' Ring on the Drain Nut.. do I have to replace the oil with new oil?? I understand this is a noob question..
