Once, just once before giving my bike to SVC for cylinder kit change I touched 125~130Kmph... Was riding to college with my usual pillion and the bike went to 120Kmph so got excited and kept it at WOT and surprisingly the bike went above 125Kmph but somewhere before 130Kmph the bike stalled all of a sudden. The engine was completely dead. Had to stop and start the bike over again.

Have had a '05 ZMA and a '08 ZMA-R respective top speeds were 127ish and 125 - I know many of us here might've been over 130k but doesn't seem to have happened to me on a ZMA.

Below figures are for '08 ZMA-R

1.when ripped really hard in the city - 20
2.when ridden sanely in the city - 25
              3.ripping in the highway - 25 - 28
              4.crusing in the highway - 30 - 33 (at the max if i cruise at 70k - 80k)
              5.mixed riding conditons - idk

                • 42- in city 60- 80 speeds. Seems like am too soft on the throttle after seeing FE of other owners .

Highway don't know. Didnt get a chance to check

Ripping at 120 kmph gives 31km per litre. Ripping in city gave 38-40 when hitting tops upto 100 kmph.
Cheetahs are faster but the lion is still the KING

With the help of an excellent tutor, Have changed quite a few things on the ZMA, this includes getting rid of the rusty excuse for a sparkplug and plonking in a new stock plug. junking the old air-box and thanks to Sri, getting a new one as well. These FE figures are post that. Previous numbers were nightmarish.

Thx Aneesh, AFR is at a stock 2.5 turns. I figured the air-box replacement should help the engine breathe better?

I rather, the low mileage is because i am fighting a very nasty oil leak from the engine. We thought it was due to an o-ring issue or the valve head but it appears to be something else, hopefully some step-by-step and methodical troubleshooting with the help of a very knowledgeable friend would help solve the issue. I am hoping to learn a thing of two as well, which - with a skull as thick as mine is quite a rare occurrence.

The only thing that keeps me happy is that the ZMA gives me a decent mileage of 20 - 23 in city with the kind of torque it lays down. Very reliable for a bike that's clocked more than 50k on the odo.

Guess 2011 ZMA has 2.5 Turns and older model has 3.5 Turns as stock.

You mean the Air filter element?Yes,It will help to breath easily.

Where bro?Can you post i pic of it? Because i had major oil leaks some months back and PSR sir helped me to solve it. I am sure that i can help you to solve it.
