how about philips xtreme vision 55/60 can i use this
I'm using that Philips Xtreme Vision 55/60w, yes you can use it but be prepared for a burnt reflector. I'm using it ignoring the burns because it gives an amazing light alongwith a great high beam throw!

Yes, it can be. But as it is not much clear but then also I think it is around or more than 15000 kms old! So, if it is true, then you should change it.

              • A tale of a used ZMA-R bought for 57K.

Now, lets take a closer look.

The bike has completed 25K Kms. The bikes initials superb but wont go above 80Kmph due to the vibes. And when we put the bike in 3rd gear theres a WOWWWOWWWWOWWW.... Like winding/grinding sound, but when we upshift to 4th then its gone. We're panning on doing a completed engine overhaul, so can you guys list all the parts like oil seals, gaskets, piston rings etc etc that has to be replaced while doing an engine overhaul and should the transmission be overhauled seperately or will it be done along with the engine overhaul.??? And can you guys also provide an estimate total budget requirement.

And it also got the prob of stalling after riding for 10mins after which we'd have to open and close the tank for the bike to start running again.

About the reflector burn, the previous bulb was a tweaked 90/100W it was added and later removed by the previous owner, im not sure, but I think its also responsible for the 5 sec delay present between pressing the horn switch and the horn actually honking.

                  2. To get quote on the overhaul, you guys are well acquinted with service station, Aneesh has got almost the Spares Ala Carte MENU card, might help a bit. I believe this restoration job will be carried by the HH, so why not you take the bike to them to hear from HH instead?

To my knowledge it should costs a another 2nd hand bike!....

i just check these ones Philips Lighting India - BlueVision ultra

or any u know which comes a little cheaper that will completely fit in proper a HID color chart | Xenon colour chart
                    a 5000k projection

my issue is that i am unable to see anything at night with my default light,so i just need a light so that i get a clear visibility as in calcutta there are too many patholes and uneven roads
If you're still with the 35/35 W oe bulb , then you can go for 60/55 W - either ordinary halogen or Philips/Osram Nightbreakers . But then the stock battery should be changed to a 9ah one for optimum results . And any additional electrical load should be accompanied by a relay , be it light or horn .
HID lights are very bright , but costly as well .

                    Try Osram Nightbreakers - 60/55W . (it's costly)

                    .
+1 . Even with burnt reflector , it gives a beautiful spread and point . It can be a life saver .

Seems dirty enough to warrant a replacement. Mine's @ 11600 km old and as dirty. Have bought a Zen MPFI filter today ( along with Vineeth )as replacement (psr is using one and he says it's breathing ability is great) . Since it requires some 'jugad' I've postponed the mounting for the weekend .Vineeth has already fixed his filter and I expect feedback from him tomorrow . But since his setup is different (he's currently running K&N)result wont be the same for me . It costs 265/- at Maruti genuine spares outlet .

BTW the AA cell didn't come with the filter . Just put it there for size comparison .

A noob friend of mine bought this. If you look close at the pics you can see my ZMA covered up next to my Kiney.

                      2. Aneesh estimated a max 5k, but I wanted an exact list of things to be replaced... Like piston ring.. all the seals and all... So I can order them.
And if god permits, this is may be the next DIY we're going to do. So steer clear.

Oh! I was fortunate to see Kinetic which can smoke RX... lol Will talk about your restoration project separately.

See, it would not be easy to determine what needs to be done to the bike, unless we open up to see what is cooked. Parts catalog would be of help to determine the necessary parts to order. You'll need to go step by step in restoration projects (any bike for that matters).

Overall idea to approach the restoration.
                        1. Visual inspection.
                        2. Determine the health of engine. (take a spin).
                        3. Ascertain the replacement parts.
                        4. Check for the spares and procure them
                        5. Find a mech and evaluate time and cost.
                        6. Go all out.

STRONG ADVICE:- Never, dismantle the bike and search for parts. Always procure the parts in advance to minimize the work in progress.

                        All the best !

For an overhaul,You have to get new:

                          Gasket-650rs
                          Piston Rings-270rs
                          Oil seals-50rs
                          Valve Stem Seals-85rs

So a min of 1000rs spare and then labor charge,Its about 1500-2000rs for opening ZMA's engine here.

He said there is serious wobbling issues and alignment problems,So i guess the swingarm bushes might be damaged,Not sure though. Then forks need to get checked.

Sir, to reduce cost and to preserve time we'd like to know about all the thingi's inside the engine & transmission that are very much prone to wear like the washers, seals, friction plates etc. The purpose is to not repeat the mistake Aneesh made(only after overhauling he got to know about replacing the blah blah seal - Sorry forgot the name.)

Had a date with the service manual, but since both of us are novice's we're not exactly sure which all parts to order. So sought out to seek expert advice, speaking of that. Its been long since I've seen PSR Sir.

Heres the taking a spin(40Kms, rode back from college on this.) report of the ride.
The handling seems abit off, maybe misalignment or bent forks or something. The ride was missing the left handle weight. Smooth acceleration was ok, but hard acceleration always resulted in trouble sooner or later. After every 10mins the bike stalled, we had to open the tank and let the air out for the bike to get running. Then the bike was smooth till 80Kmph after that the vibes started kicking hard. And about the transmission, the third gear had the winding/grinding noise, like woooowwwwooooowwwwoooowww... And would get faster with acceleration and vice versa, but would immediately go away with gear shifting.

Other than that, Didnt find anything odd, and yeah the AFR screw's stuck.

                            @ACS Sir,
When you mod the ZEN MPFi air filter please post a detailed DIY so that we'd be able to implement in this bike too.

HID lights are very bright , but costly as well.

.....and delayed in response as well

+1 . Even with burnt reflector , it gives a beautiful spread and point . It can be a life saver .

BTW, performance differences with this new filter????
