  • @ Yash: Philip's ones are also good for lighting spread and brightness...and as Ravi already said use the H4 only..it would be direct fit..!! Also, if you could use it with a relay it would be nice..

Many here are not using a relay though as it works fine...but i have got it installed..

Hmmm!! That was real confusing.. That's for sorting that out

Dude if you check my picture H4 is clearly visible..
H7 will not suit ZMa .

        • 1st Accident!

Guys I had my first accident on my zma on 20th aug. Freak one at that.
Was driving in the service lane to parking lot near my office that morning, when one guy who's walking on the footpath decided to suddenly jump right infront of me as if to end his life (and mine) without looking across the road.
I panic-braked, skidded the bike which bottomed out to the left, & i was painting the tarmac crimson with my blood.

Both palms, rt arm, rt elbow, rt knee, hip/waist rt side heavily bruised.
Fking Braindead Pedestrian! A week of tetanus shot, betadine gauges, neosporin and white bandages with bed rest and holiday from busy but important week at work.

And though elbow, arm and knee wounds were the deepest and bloodiest, it is the one on the palms and fingers that pained the most, & the longest. WEAR GOOD GLOVES always.

I'm investing in a nice pair of gloves, a riding jacket and knee pads immediately. Tell me I can get all three in 7-8K???

Another thing, my bike was damaged. Frt Brake lever and Rear Brake pedal got bent totally. Rt fairing got a nice crack and scratch near indicator lamp. Heat shield on silencer also roughed out. My handle (clutch lever) now touches the visor when turned extreme right.

What all should I get checked ???
Bike servicing is gonna be due (4850 kms done) and I wanted to get carb cleaned and tuned, tappets adjusted as it is coz mileage was decreasing and the engine was making a weird metallic clicking noise (~proportional to engine rpm).

Raghav, Sad to hear about the incident. I wish you a speedy recovery. Ironically, my first accident on Karizma resembles same as you in many aspects. Skidded exactly the same way as you because of a kid who ran his bicycle across the road all of a sudden. I did not have major bruises on any other parts of my body except a big skin peel-off in right hand (I was not wearing gloves then), which pained me for a month or two almost. Bike took the same damage as yours.

I immediately invested in good pair of gloves and after that those gloved saved my hands all the time when I crashed. You can get a good pair of gloves for 3k and 5k for a good armored jacket.

Regarding the bike, first discard the handle bar. Replace right side cowl, brake lever, and rear brake pedal. Silencer heat shield, if you want to can replace it. Chrome heat shield is 650 bucks. Brake lever around 60 bucks. Right side front cowl 1200 bucks. Brake pedal around 150 bucks. Handle bar around 170 bucks.

Most probably the bike will not take any more damage than above. Just check if the bike is running straight after you replace all, with hands off.

Once again, wishing you a speedy recovery.

Inder can you please spread some light on this? I have got the light installed and I am thinking to do relaying. BTW, my bike is still on the stock Amco 7amp battery.

              • Thanks for your wishes Ravi.
Seems you have a ready reckoner to Zma parts-prices

Do you really think I need to change my handle bar?.. Will get the fork checked out as well, and the T-cone bearings too.

In any case I'll check evrything again and replace whatever is needed.

3K for a pair of GLOVES ??$#% I thought I cud get both gloves & knee protectors for 3000-3200.

Do you suggest I should get the eng-transmission assy. opened up & checked for damage to cogs/gears? the accident happened when I was on 3rd gear and after I recovered, bike took some effort to shift b/w 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears either way (Up or Dwn shift became hard when 3rd gear was involved)

                • Raghav, I wish you a speedy recovery. I too had a fall from my zma 15 days back. Luckily for me, the crashguard saved the plastics, handlebar, heat shield and my leg, have to fix a new one though.

yes, i didn't see a point to keep the engine shield (experience with my previous zma)

                      • nice. i estimate a 2.5-3K bill for repairs + mods, and another 8K for protective riding gear.

whopping hit to my pocket, but will be so much better than any bruise to my palms.

All who're reading BELIEVE ME, even a slightest scratch on your palm/fingers will pain 10 times as much and thrice as longer than deeper bruise on your arm or knee.

(It's been a week & I still can't roll my palms into a fist coz of the pain!)

krishna, do u have a pic of your zma posted somewhr? with the crash guard? want to see how it looks

                        • Raghav, you can use CBF Stunner's crash guard. One of my friends here did fit it and it is really excellent fit I can say.

Do not open the engine for transmission check. Use the bike for sometime and the hard gears persist, then we can see. Checking forks and T-cone are compulsory in any accident.

I said a very good pair of gloves would cost 3k. You can get a decent one for around 2.3k. Knee guards for around 1.5k (I guess).

sry fr u bro, will pray fr ur speedy recovery

i jst dont know am hating zma for its skidding nature and bloody costly spares, other than that its really an awsome one.

considering ur injuries during the accident i wud nt hesitate to say that the damage occured to ur bike is very less...even i had an accident recently on mah zma,an auto tralley fellow jumped on the road through a small lane in opp. direction right in front of me and i almost lost my hopes luckily i dint had much injuries but i had to invest around 15000 bugs fr its damage .

u cn check out the gear through :
