I think the sound must be from the air entering in - Calculate 223(engine cc) x 5000(rpm) . That much cc of air gets sucked in every minute .
Most modern bike Air Filters including the Ninja uses foam filters...When I used foam to fill in the open slots, I had used TWO inch thick foam strips Compressed to 0.75 inch(the red ones) and ONE inch strips to 0.5 inch...this compression of foam makes it dense and closes most of the pores making it non permeable....and used hot glue to seal in place.

I have another confusion about the AFR screw direction . The AFR screw on the ZMA controls what , fuel or air ? In most of the other carbs I have seen including the keihin PB18 I cleaned , it controls air ( I think ) . So screwing it in ( clockwise ) makes the mix richer (less air) . Or am I confused again ? Please help .

I am looking at a permanent re-engineering to fit the stock ZEN filter in place without much effort.
A CV carb will have Petrol adjustment AFR screw and a Slide actuated carb will have an Air Adjustment AFR screw...How to find out which is which ?...EASY..
      1. If the AFR screw is nearer to the engine manifold, and AFTER the center half of the Carb then it is Petrol adjustment...(Pulsar,Karizma)
Turning it clockwise reduces the petrol and Vice Verse

      2. If the AFR screw is near the Air Inlet part of Carburetor..near where the Air Filter fits then it is Air Adjustment screw.( RX 100).
Turning it Clockwise reduces AIR and Vice Verse.

My friends got an exact replica of this, the only difference is that his ride's yellow and the rings white.

Check the gear pedal is hitting anywhere,I had the same problem, the gear pedal bolt was loose, that was the issue.

Thats not the exact way to explain bro.
Its like when we upshift, sometimes the gear clicks twice, its like click then kachak...
And sometimes when we downshift while pressing the clutch only 75% goes down, but as soon as we release the clutch the rest 25% goes down(i.e if you are still applying pressure on the gear lever.).

So you've thought of it beforehand , yes in such density it'll be good enough and not pass much air at all .

                    Ok Clarity obtained .
All the carbs I have personally tinkered with up to now ..splendor's keihin PB18 carb and the rx-100/rx-135's mikuni , max-100's whatever .. are all air-screws (anti-clockwise to lean) . So I was getting confused by reading the Kari threads . Going to take out and clean the cbz-x carb now .. so I needed to get this clear as day . Any idea what that(cbz-x) is ?

CBZ carb is Same as Karizma CV carb. Turn AFR clockwise to lean and anti clockwise to make AFR rich.

                      • Some oil review.

                        from best to worst:
                        1: Shell advance AX7 10w40 (SS)
                        2: Gulf Pride 4T plus 20w40 (mineral)
                        3: HH 4T plus 10w30 (Stock mineral)
                        4: Motul 5100 15w50 (SS)
                        5: Motul 300v 15w50 (FS)
                        6: castrol power1 15w40 (SS)

                        Details:
                        1: Shell advance AX7
: It is semi-synthetic and the grade is 10w40 and by far is the best engine oil i have ever used. it resulted in smoother engine and good gear shift(not the best). currently using this engine oil and life is around 2k kms. cost 280rs/l

2: Gulf pride 4T plus: By far the best mineral oil i have ever used in my ZMR. Rating is 20w40 and made engine smooth and gear shift was best with this oil. life is around 1.5k kms. cost 200rs for 900ml

3: HH 4T plus: yes you are right it is the stock oil of hero honda with the rating 10w30. nothing special to write about and the life is 1k kms.

4: Motul 5100: the most popular semi-synthetic oil among pulsarians and it is good for them but not so good for ZMR at 15w50. i have toured uttarakhand on this oil and used it for 1450kms approx though on return journey the gearshift became notchy and loss of pickup from very first day.
                        cost 450rs/l

5: Motul 300v: frankly i have wasted my 875 bucks on this oil. it made engine smooth no doubt and amazingly engine was not getting heat up but after a tour of about 300kms gear became notchy and smoothness gone to hell then rode another 100kms then got oil changed. it may be good but not for our ZMR as initial pickup died.

6: Castrol power1: one word PATHETIC. dont know why people use this oil. worst engine oil used so far, lasted for 700kms rating was 15w40 and cost 300 approx for 1100ml.
