It is your engine which needs attention...You may need to change the piston /rings and most probably do reboring of engine...How many Kms on ODO , and how much engine oil consumption for 1,000 Kms ?
When you increase throttle do you get bluish white smoke in exhaust

Your spark-plug looks very old and rusty, even the electrode looks corroded.
Replace it with a new piece and check it again after 1000 kms ,also
-check if there is any reduction in engine oil level.
-Check if there is heavy carbon/sooty deposits in the exhaust opening.

                  Take a compression test..it should be 13.0kgf/cm2.

At 39,500 Kms on ODO the rings and bore are likely suspect

But many new ZMA owners had done it without any mods.
i think there should be quater pin,im also running without quaterpin...but 1/2 inch longer bold and one drill at end will solve the problem

                    • Bought - May 2011
4th Service - 7800kms (not taken out frequently)
Issue - Early morning ride is alergic to my bike. It tends to stop between 50-100kms if doing a morning ride. But once.

Took the bike for breakfast ride with Chennai group on Sunday morning to Pondicherry. Bike stoped exactly after doing 80kms from home. Weather was quite chill. The idle RPM which was set between 1000-1100, after the engine shut, when I tried to crank, it would come up, fluctuated between 900-1000 RPM. I've been in this situation before, so did not try funny things with the engine. Wondered if I should change my bike? Why is that every morning ride I face this problem. Is that something fundamentally wrong with the bike? Should I sell it off and get some better bike? All these thoughts ran wild in my head like a lightening. First thought to calm down from the frustration. So kept silent for a minute or two. Again started the bike, idle rose to 1000. Then checked it couple of times with twisting of throttle to ensure if it idles around 1000. Bingo! Then started off. I was comfortable doing the three digits all the way and back.

Monday morning went to sevice station (service due anyhow) and gave it for service and also reported the issue. Probably they could only understand after explaining them more than two time of the issue. So seated in the service area to watch my ride they service, though not close enough but was visible to an extent.

Service Supervisor suspected some air ventilation tube from carb to be culprit however, I could not get convinced and told them that some other issue troubling the ride.

Two senior technicians were involved during my bike service. They were questioning about the spark plug which I had was G-Power of NGK. I told them clearly there is nothing to do with plug since I was able to carry on after that situation. God knows what they perceived of the issue, 'we have addressed the issue'. When asked for the explanation, they said we have cleaned the air vent tube from the carburetor. Asked me to ride and get back if the issue still persists.

While taking the bike from the service, there was a clear difference in terms of clutch and acceleration response this time, whether it was my psychological that two seniors works on my bike or something that was taken care off, is still a mystery. I shall not get convinced the remedy they said to have taken care off.

Symptoms:- Engine shuts off during cold morning ride between 50-100kms when accelerator is closed. It tends to gasp for breathe.

Occurance:- Only once in the early morning when weather is chill /cold. During the day time(after sun is up), the problem doesn't occur.

Remedy:- Not known what's the treatment beyond cleaning the the air vent tube from carb. Not sure if this is correct. Awaiting for another morning ride to see if the issue surfaces again.

As PSR once told me earlier that vapour from the fuel tends to cause this issue during early morning. Again it was just my bike which I assume giving this issue.

Promise:- This is the third time I've faced issue with my ride if I could recall the numbers right. Last few times were carb slide getting stuck. I was able to trouble shoot by freeing the slide. Bottom line is that, my bike never let me have a clean ride all the way without giving a worry.

This is the typical CDI connector loose contact problem...when the engine dies it will start but when you try to accelerate it will die again...after a few tries the problem will suddenly go away..
I had faced this problem numerous times, and had also called you once when I got this problem...I had since opened the connector, and tightened the individual connectors ,and so far , am riding in peace...this and the throttle slide getting stuck are peculiar ZMA problem, but over time, and with corrective action , goes away.

Yes, I remember about cdi issue you faced. At the situation, could not think of CDI issue. Good thing is that, it did not pull out lot of time. Shall work this weekend.

Check compression...since there is too much oil on the spark plug.
