As Inder said, its pretty normal.Originally posted by jayaramk1983 View PostI am facing this issue from the start when I had bought the bike. If the bike is idle for more than 3-4 hours after riding it , the next time i try self start I need to use the choke for 1 min before the bike warms up and comes to proper idling. The idling RPM is near 1.1k or 1.2k.
Is this problem common to ZMA's or do I need to adjust the rpm or check the spark plug.
My bike has run about 4000kms now.
Try using half choke. and I feel ur Idling RPM is a tad low. Try increasing it to 1.2 to 1.4 and see the difference. (Remember, adjust idling RPM when engine is hot. Tappets are to be adjusted when engine is cold)
Remember that in the RPM meter, every 1000rpm is divided into 4 sections. Dont let it mislead you

Heyy Pitbull, Michelins are wonderful for the ZMA. I have an M45 Rear and M62-Gazelle, front. I just love them.Originally posted by pitbull View PostHello Friends, Thought of a little update...or upgrade update.
During the last 3 months, did the following upgrades
- Michelin M45s both front and rear
- Nightbreaker bulb
- Givi rear top box (still on my desk - not fitted yet)
Michelins: The best thing to have happ to my ZMA-R (just crossed 7000kms after 1.5years of ownership bcos i mostly ride my bicycle for commuting) as the grip is awesome. Last sat i rode 70-80kms on the highway and city roads in pouring rain. The roads were smooth and wet (recipe for a slide)..but the bike felt confident as though on dry. The MRF Zappers that i had used to give me jitters and broke traction many times(esp starting from 0kmph/rest...from a traffic light for eg). So..if you are thinking abt michlins...just head for the nearest michelin dealer...dont think at all....
Givi top box with mounting rack: bought for rs1600 in chennai...had a doubt whether it is original, but the mrkg literacture, the fitting guide book and the display rack all looked too original (made in malaysia) leaeding me to accept it as original. Still i dont understand why i paid nearly 20,000rs for my last givi hard bags for my suzuki vstrom in 2006. whatever...i ll update this later once i fit it on my bike. (if you are in chennai, the only other givi bag on display...is actually faulty (locks dont work), so wait for fresh stock or models)
About the Givi box, this sounds really interesting. It looks fabulous on the Vstorms. I really wonder how nice it would look on the ZMA.
Could you please post some pics for us?? Prices, installations etc ??Never Argue with an Idiot !!!

Follow this fool proof method for cold staring.
open Half choke -> open slight accelerator -> press the starter -> engine fires up instantly -> warm it up for 10-15 seconds -> close choke -> ride on.
do share whether this method works or not."Biking is Divine"

the Givi box is yet to be installed due to lack of time during the day. It costed me Rs1600 and it comes with a base (need to permanently attach this onto the rear carrier) and a box (detachable with a button-press). I got these at Chennai- Mount Road (near those helmet shops). But these could be factory-seconds(Malaysia made) so please check the product esp the locking mechanism.
I had a box already fitted on my ZMA (this box broke after a stupid Maruti.Estillo rear-ended it). So, I already have a Splendor rear carrier installed on my ZMA (not an easy fit...some basic welding needed)...not to mention some weird looks from ppl who ask "why spoil the zma with splendor carrier...."
experience:
once you get used to a rear box...the bike almost feels like a car...throw ur stuff into it and walk and shop. store helmet safely, leave ur jacket and gloves too... at one point i even had spare shoes and a shirt in it...not to mention a comb for the helmet-flattened hair(whtever is left of it
)

Hey guys just bought 2008 karizma for 68000.It has run only 2800 kms and condition is good.
Only thing im not satisfied with is the brakes. They dont catch proper and bike skids. Is it because of lack of air bleeding?
Also what tips do you guys have for me ?
Ill post pics tomorrow.

Pretty much sure.Originally posted by samarth14feb View PostDude u sure v do get fuel tap with a LOCK ? one controlled by key to on-off-res fuel?
If you can't find 1 in mysore, come to Bangalore.
In millenium motors, you will find it for sure.
I may be going there tomorrow.
I will get the exact price from them.
