If it is minor, take it to ranigunj. If repair is not possible, then you might have to spend around 4200. You can claim insurance too.

i have checked with an expert(in mysore who comes to HH showroom to remove wheel bend, usually for spokes), he says there is no way no remove alloy bend! only thing that can be done is alignment using wheel balancers(metal clips) of required weight.

        • Hi to all, again!

          Hi All,

I have been lurking around this forum for more than 3.5 years since I got my first ZMA-R. Nice to see so many new members and old timers who have helped me always when i had trouble with my ride. Although, out of action for last 6 months, can't wait to get back to riding, which will be only after a couple of months. I wish you all happy and safe motorcycling.

          Cheers,

          Krishna

            • Guys,
Any good service center in Bangalore?

              1. Need to get my tappets tightened.
              2. I experience little jerks all the time while riding
              3. When I start riding, initial 2-3 kms, bike jerks a lot
              4. Battery seems to be weak
              5. Get my bike thoroughly checked

Problem # 2, 3 seems to be tuning related, but my knowledge is limited

              • I started reading this thread to decide which Bike to get between Karizma and Pulsar 220. Decided on Karizma when I reached page 80 and bought it when I reached page 137 and couldn't resist posting at the page 317.
Got a silver color one from Sai Motors, Bangalore and completed 400 Kms till now.
I first went to Millennium motors as it is near my office but they said they don't have any bike for test ride and wanted me to book it without a test ride. When I said I wanted a silver color one, they said it will take minimum two months to get it.
Then went to Prakash motors and saw that it is too much crowded and you need to run around to get someone to talk to you.
So went to Sai motors, got the test ride and booked it next day. There service was really good and they gave me a good price for my 5 Year old Bajaj Discover 125 cc with alloys.
Also got an extended warranty for two years for Rs 250.00. I don't know if it is really worth it but took it anyways. The total price with the accessories came to 88060. I took helmet lock, beeper, Teflon coating and handle grip.
Its running ok till now and waiting for the first service to get over

                • Now the problems

Now let me tell the problems which I am facing/faced till now other than the normal run-in issues.
The clutch wire broke exactly at 100 Kms on the ODO. I replaced it at Millennium motors. Can there be any serious problem with the bike that the clutch wire broke so soon. I wrote a mail to Hero Honda and they asked me to go to Sai motors to get my cable replaced and for a general check. Didn't get time to go there so thought of getting it checked at first service only.

Also there is some weird noise coming at speeds from 40-60, I think its from the chain. The sound is like rubbing of metals. Can I drive with this for another 100 Kms or I need to go to service center now only.

Also while changing gear and releasing the clutch there seems to be some sound coming. Only I can fell it, the pillion doesnt hear/feel anything.

Please people help me on this..

Well, ppl here get their alloy bend removed and it works quiet well too. they even repair cracked alloy's as well!

Firstly, congratulation on your new ride. My Zma-R is has done some 17k now. No cables broke as yet. So yours must be some unfortunate incident. Hopefully new cable serves you better.

As for the noise..which you said seems to be coming from chain. My first ever motorcycle was my Zma-R. I came from Car background, so I did find motorcycles quiet unrefined initially, especially all those noises from gears/sprockets/chain when they are in motion. I learned to live with it. Well for one Zma chains are bigger and heavier than your previous ride, so they will make more noise. And Zma makes chain noise generously in this department.

Though I did experience an unusual noise once when the bike was relatively new. This noise happens only when bike is in motion. A steady rhythm like metal rubbing against metal. Being new to motorcycle myself, I couldn't quiet figure out the source. After lots of research on the net, I made an educated guess that the source may be from the chain. I was right. You see, I adjust my own chain and the first time I did, I didn't do them properly. I tighten them too much. After loosening them a bit. "poof" the sound was gone. This may not be the case for you, but its worth a try.

                          • after last service

Guys after last service, I feel vibration from the fairing...can anybody guide how to say tighten the screws as I am judging the SVC guys didnt fit it all right ...

Mine has done abt 16k now, brakes are acting a bit weird....Did complain abt it while giving it for service, They have done not so good job, then I myself tried to remove the air from the system(thank you OF sir ,it was the DIY), after which it is relatively better yet not getting the braking I use to ....SVC say get the brake pads changed next service,Does the brake become spongy or less effective if the pads wear out ????I am not too happy with their solution to the problem ...any thoughts

try to locate the vibarations(from the speedometer housing area/the headlight)if it is from the speedometer area, then padding with sponge should do good. if it is from another area then you need to remove the front fairings which is quite an easy task though fitting is quite tedious but nonetheless, here are the steps.
1.lay out a piece of newspaper on the ground for the fairing.
                              2. remove the screws of the left and right fairing and.disconnect the headlight connector(located on the inner right corner of the fairing with a rubber boot) and the indicator wires.
                              3. remove the right and left fairings from the tank by prying out the lock/stem (located in the bottom left of right fairing and vice versa)
4.stand in front of your bike and pull out slightly the left and right fairings and pull the whole unit from where you stand.
                              5. u need to remove the headlight completely to tighten the fr middle piece of the lt and rt fairing.

and about the BRAKES.there are a number of ways to remove air,one is to tight the front lever to the throttle (not that tight!!),leaving it overnight and removing the bleeder in the morning. the other one is to tap the lines with a screwdriver handle and bleeding.the the other one is to remove the banjo nut slightly from the master cylinder and pressing the lever and last one is to pour fluid on the master cylinder and subsequently bleeding.
