Would that remind of quick throttle set up kinds?

No in a quick throttle the larger dia spindle does the job, while here there are two cables from throttle twist to carb...while one pulls the other pushes...I guess it is to take off the slack in cable, and give a precise throttle feeling. The throttle twist also stops using the carb throttle valve stopper.Parts 2 and 3 are the two throttle cables.

      • @PSR: I am having one question. Which part of the engine got damaged during knocking? Its the knocking caused by pulling the bike in very low rpm. Please explain.
        Move on.........

I have michelins M45 both front (3.00x18) and rear (4.00x18) - and they are amazing!!! on my Karizma. however, i noticed that the rear tyre slightly kisses the rear-brake-holding rod (on the right side)....and at times (when i adjust the tyre to the left)..the chain guard as well...

I just wanted to know if you faced the same problem, if so what did you do to set it right....

          Thanks!
I too have 4.00 M45 at rear in zma r but its not scrapping the sides. I have run about 1000km on it. Does the tyre bulge ones it gets older ? I think the alignment is not centered properly in your case.

          • Can we fix ZMR's brake pedal in Karizma? The svc guy told me that the cbz's pedal is direct fit,but you cannot use ZMR's in karizma! Both of them looks same, then why we can't fix it?

              Don't mind my question here...

What are you trying to accomplish here? Is that your ZMA brake pedal not good or you find ZMR brake pedal better?

                • well, i have a small query over here, i think sumtimes my zma is running a bit lean. cos it has to make an effort to accelerate when throttle is opened. is it a symptom of lean air+fuel mix. if so, is there any other means to determine if our mix gets more rich?

                  • I tried to visually estimate the gap for the 4.00 m45 rear tyre.
RHS Its approx 6mm - 7mm between tyre and link rod
LHS Its really less, about 2mm max 3mm between tyre and chain cover. I tried slipping cards of various thickness for estimation.

No alterations done. Even alignment or chain tightenning is not done since the tyre was fixed 1000km back. Jus old mrf tyre removed and this one fixed in its place.

Any idea how to improve rear braking?

Also how can we find out whether its time to change rear brake shoes? I am getting a squeezing sound when ever i apply rear brakes, braking is good,i hadnt changed my brake shoes till now.

How old is your bike?Is your airfilter clogged with dirt?Did you cleaned your airfilter?Did you cleaned carburetor? All these can cause the above jerk i think...

To find it remove the spark plug and see the colour of the tip. If the colour is whiter ,then the mix is lean. Ii it is black, it is rich. If it is dark brown, the mix is perfect.

Occasional knocking will not cause any engine damage....similarly pulling with load at a higher gear and lower RPM produces the same effect. But if at higher RPMs you get knocking there are two reasons.
                          1. AFR is very lean
                          2. The ignition timing had become advanced or if any mods had been done the compression had increased resulting in this.....
The Part to suffer damage are:
                          1. Spark plug
                          2. PISTON and rings
                          3. Crank shaft big and small end bearings.

The Part#14 is described as slider chain...I guess it is there to prevent the drive chain from hitting the swing arm when it becomes loose or when swing arm goes up and down quickly.
When your brake wear indicator goes past the limit, or when braking becomes poor,it is time to change the brake shoe.

Sir one doubt, some times i felt like having knocking sound @ higher rpms.u said knocking happens if any mods had been done the compression had increased. So now my question is i have liquid gasket in my bike and i don't think its applied in corect manner by the svc ,So could it have increased my compression and making the knocking sound?
