In the previous page, I was telling a guy about clutch cable. It happened my cable broke too after 17k. It survived riding through two monsoon. I believe it should survived longer had it not been for a puncture in the cable where it allowed water to seep in. The puncture seems to have been caused by the exhaust. Anyway after removing the cable, it was rusting precisely where the puncture happened. Luckily, it happened near my house, so I just pushed the rest of the way.

No problem, I'll get a new one. So I thought. Sunday, I went to service center and asked for one. "Not available", I was told. "So when can I get one", I asked. "Next 20 days" . This means my bike will be idle for "at least" the next 20 days. So I asked whether other cable from other bike can be used somehow. Nope, was the reply from the experts.

I wasn't about to wait for the next 20 days that may even go for a month for a clutch cable, so off I went hunting to another service center. Same reply. No cable for karizma, and was told "again" that other cables cannot be used. Anyway I got a CBZ clutch cable. After all I have already spend roughly about Rs.400 on petrol (car) and covered about 100 kms searching for a cable worth Rs.67 (CBZ cable. Don't know how much Karizma costs). Anyway, I intended to do some modification to the cable if necessary and used them until I could get karizma cable. I went in for CBZ as that seems to be closest to karizma. BTW I already asked for ZMR which is not available either.

Reached home and I went to remove old cable. Found that CBZ cable was a little longer. Everything else fit. And I was told by those #$%@#(*&^ experts that it will not work .

One observation. The area where you adjust the cable tension with those two nuts are right on the limit. Meaning there is very little room for tightening the cable further. My cable has been adjusted perfectly with some small room left to tighten if necessary. But that wouldn't be required. oohhh! my clutch is so smooth now .

Firstly, congratulation on your new ride. My Zma-R is has done some 17k now. No cables broke as yet. So yours must be some unfortunate incident. Hopefully new cable serves you better.

As for the noise..which you said seems to be coming from chain. My first ever motorcycle was my Zma-R. I came from Car background, so I did find motorcycles quiet unrefined initially, especially all those noises from gears/sprockets/chain when they are in motion. I learned to live with it. Well for one Zma chains are bigger and heavier than your previous ride, so they will make more noise. And Zma makes chain noise generously in this department.

Though I did experience an unusual noise once when the bike was relatively new. This noise happens only when bike is in motion. A steady rhythm like metal rubbing against metal. Being new to motorcycle myself, I couldn't quiet figure out the source. After lots of research on the net, I made an educated guess that the source may be from the chain. I was right. You see, I adjust my own chain and the first time I did, I didn't do them properly. I tighten them too much. After loosening them a bit. "poof" the sound was gone. This may not be the case for you, but its worth a try.

after spending around 3000 bucks last week on servicing (kms 7000 done so far) my neutral light is not on, the culprit is the neutral plate which cost around 20 bucks...but to fit it would be around 2500 bucks or so...by hh guys...the warranty is only for the part...thankyou HH...rest if it breakdown again i have to donate again from my pocket...yup minus the 20 bucks...

So here are my query...
How much will be the actual cost..
Is it a common occurrence.
Right now to start the bike i have to engage the clutch, will it be an issue (wearing of clutch plate)..

I have previously told this and I am telling again. Please buy clutch cable, throttle cable A and B and keep them in store at home. When the need comes, you may not get these readily available.

^^ It touches 100(speedo indicated) around 6000 rpm. Never tested the top end!

^^ Touches 100 in 5.8k RPM, 140 in around 8.5k RPM

Sadly Joel is not making FFE anymore atleast till december.

Automech quoted 3500 for that cheap looking black FFE and 6500 for Stainless Steal FFE.

Satish it depends on the tyre we are using . Stock tyre i think i hit 100 on 6 K rpm and 110 exaclty on 7 K rpm and then 120+ around 8 K.
After 110 the RPM and top speed is showing different correlation in different scenarios .
One time i hit 135 just at red line but after that never touched that .

Now after switching to M45 my bike will 100 before 6 K (say 5.7K )
hit 110 before 7 K (6.7-6.8 K) but after that the top speed increase is very less as the RPM increases.
