I have been using Vaiterra Claw. It has screwed up those panels.

Are yaar saddle bag does not necessarily mean we are riding a horse. For motorcycles with plastic fairings we would require pannier racks else our plastics are screwed for sure.

    Two wheels Forever

Hey co rider thats cause your air filter is connected to the crank case breather for the oil vapour to condense, no need to worry just keep the breather clean and unclogged

      Two wheels Forever

There are two sets of holes. The one in the back is connected to Carb, which feeds air to engine.

The other hole, which has 2 pipes is the one which lets air from outside to this chamber.
Instead of having one big hole, they have used a splitter so, big junk like leaves, flying cotton or plastic covers don't enter this chamber and block the air filter. This way only air and minor junk comes into this chamber and they would be filtered out by Air filter.

You can place an order from your nearest ass. Only limitation being, you need to pay money in advance, so they trust you.

No need to look in other cities or towns. Authorized service center will get it for you. Place an order and pay in advance.

Parts availability has been kind of an issue lately. I would suggest you get a tank from pudhupet after good examination of the tank condition. Getting a new tank is next to impossible. However do check at Southern auto, nandanam. You can ask for Mr.Prakash, Technician. He deals with karizma specifically. Another suggestion go ahead with a no fairing look if you like it. There are some modded karizmas with round headlamps(google for images). In my opinion they look decent and eliminate the fairing vibrations.

Firstly, Harish, welcome to Karizma family! Hope you clock many many miles over it.

Regarding parts availability, I completely agree with Kris here. I had a similar experience (read the link below if you want to know more) and simce then follow the exact same route as kris mentioned. Have not faced parts availability issue for some time now.

The local ass said all parts are available with them, if bike is being serviced there. No otc sales though. Parts not in stock can be ordered if you pay in advance.

Regarding air filter following PSR sir's direction I had done a diy and posted it here. Check it out.

Sorry that I post very rarely but I had to post this. Did a 400+ kms ride today to jamunamarathur and back to chennai. The bike performed very well. At one point I had to cross a shallow river (have crossed this river twice before). This time though, only after I was middway I realised the water was a good 3-4 feet! Surprisingly zma was stable despite sand and rocks at the bottom. After I got out I saw the water marks had almost reached the bottom of the tank. I am thankful that the despite the engine being submerged, the bike did not let me down. After 5yrs and 45k on odo, this bike still amazes me sometimes. That torquey engine is a gem. The chassis is pretty good too.

One other thing. Sometimes when doing speeds of about 80-90, I find there is a little hiccup before it accelerates. This is even before the river crossing. Cruising at 100+ is not a problem though. I recently got the stock spark plugs installed. Could it be the culprit?

Great start Harish! This bike can keep munching miles the whole day.

About the power lag, I have experienced it a few times but never tried to get to the root cause.

Let us wait to hear from knowledgeable memebers as well.

Hiccups may be due to bad fuel, Get ur carburetor slide clean.

                          • Suggestion for Good crank breather filter for Karizma R!!

                            Hi everybody,

I have recently done a Mod-job on my Karizma r wherein I have put K&N RC 1060 filter. But I have little or no idea about which filter should I buy for Crank breather pipe.
Can anyone give some valuable suggestions??

Hi fellow ZMA owners. I picked up a 27k kms run, 2012 ZMA in January. It joined my D390 as a city runabout and occasional touring substitute to the Duke. Ever since I'm having niggling issues with it. In a month it developed significant vibrations and noise above 4k rpm. My friend who is also a talented mechanic found that the carb diaphragm was the culprit and changed it. He cleaned the carb as well. The issue was rectified but only to be hit with another trouble almost 1000kms later. Bike developed metallic noise and taka taka noise rich i suspected was a loose cam chain tensioner. But it turned out to be a broken chain guide and i had to replace cams, rockers, chain and tensioner along with thanks to excessive wear. It was a big bill.

Now almost after a month the bike started developing issues again. The major trouble are the vibes and noise above 4000rpm. Engine sounds very rough. Highway rides are getting very uncomfortable experiences. I can't modulate the throttle smoothly at all. Bike dips due to engine braking like the fuel is cut off if the revs drop exactly under 3000rpm mark. This is a big annoyance in city. After every shift, it takes a fraction of a second pause before the power delivery starts. Cannot blip the throttle on downshifts because the revs stumble and throttle response has gone for a toss. Is it the diaphragm going wrong or a troublesome slide?

Mechanic friend is advising for a carb swap to the p180 carb as the parts for zma keihin are harder to come by. And he doesn't want me to go with a new karizma carb. I'm getting quite frustrated by the repeated issues and I'm searching for that elusive karizma smoothness. Should i go with a new carb? I'm running 3.5 turns anti clockwise now. Tried half a turn both ways and the experience is similar

Place an Order from nearest Hero dealer.
No point in swapping carb with another vehicle from other manufacturer. If the problem doesn't get resolved after swapping, your mechanic friend wont even say sorry. You end up paying for carb and him.

Why not get the original one from hero itself. it might take some time though.
