    @highwayhermit

You are welcome and congratulations on conquering Spiti Valley! I will PM you to get more details as I am planning do it next year.
I must say , "Lhamo" did an excellent job. I assume that you it is a pre-worshipped one.

To reduce the fiber parts from rattling, I have placed a rubber washer (I improvised using the old tyre tube) for fixing most of the fiber parts.

For checking tyre pressure, I suggest that you carry a portable pressure gauge. I carried this (I see multiple entries of it with different price on Amazon) during my 11 days Pune-Kanyakumari-Trip (This is the link to my blog if you wish to read).

For Off-Road, I heard lot of praises of CEAT "Button Type" tires. In one of the XBHP magazine issue, somebody had used it. I will try to get the details and will post here.

Regarding the non-availability spare parts as few members mentioned above, I had a first hand experience after I came back from the trip. During the routine service, the service guys figured out the 2 studs and nut (that hold the silencer to engine head) had fallen off. I went nuts looking for them for 2 months as not a single service center had them in stock. Finally managed get the details of the Regional Spares Manager (that was put up on one of the service centers) and dropped him a mail. That got the ball rolling and the spares arrived in a week's team. Also one of the Service guys kept informing of the progress all the while. You can read the whole story here.

Karizma is one of the best bike for long distance touring. The lack of gizmos and complicated technology (ABS is an exception though) makes the bike easy-peasy on the pocket. Also servicing it from a good mechanic or taking the DIY route (which I do) makes sure that it runs without any issues.

                2. Front suspension has become pretty stiff. It's jarring on Himalayan roads where potholes appear out of nowhere. Is one bottle in each fork, overkill? Should I drain some out or does it get better after time?

Please help with any positive thoughts you may have on the above. Thank you.
ZMA front fork oil refill should be between 145-148 ml. you will get the stock suspension feeling with it. Moe than this ; your suspension will become stiffer and eventually lead to oil seal leak.
Less than this will lead to hit the bottom end of the suspension ; lead to fork bend.

I have got this from my own experience ; changed forked oil thrice; oil seal once.

                  Hi Rajarshi,

Which fork oil did you use?

Currently, I am facing the fork hitting the bottom end issue. I poured in exactly 150 ml of oil in both the fork legs.
I have used Motul 20w heavy duty oil.

I am thinking of pouring 20ml more to rectify the issue.

It happens only when using self start or after the bike fails to start when u kick. Re-bore would set you back by 1000rs approx for the parts. Packing kit get a local one for 200rs and use three bond paste to seal it.
Heating problem could be due to low oil, clogged air filter/air fuel ratio. Adjust the carb to make the mixture rich and check.
Thanks for your info- fixed all the engine issue with local mechanic and Engine is good now

K&N is useless unless upjetting the engine. Without jetting you cannot notice any difference, Do keep in mind that upjetting is a tricky job and you have to find a experienced mechanic.

                          Pros: Increased acceleration.
                          Cons: Low Mileage.

Sorry I have no idea about BMC.

I have always used stock fork oil available at Hero Service Center. As I couldn't find a suitable 3rd party oil.

                              Hi Rajarshi,

I got me bike serviced and fork oil changed again via a Authorized Service Center.
They used Motul Heavy Duty oil and filled 175ml in each fork leg.

Now the fork is not bottoming out at least in the city rides. I am looking forward to do a highway run with all the luggage loaded up.
