Karizma was a running success for last decade with unchanged in engine spec to my knowledge until they stopped production. You can easily Google the spec sheet to know.

In internet I get mixed answers. The tyre size and Final drive might be different. I cannot guarantee google answers are 100% right. Thats why asking

Anyone who read this forum (from the beginning or at least page 300-400 onwards) would know that there has been no change whatsoever in the ZMA. The "R" was a sticker job, apart from the change in CDI from the original variant. They also came up with the 'premium sports' cover.
There is no change in drive or tyre size since the beginning. This doesn't apply to the new ZMA (2014 dual light model).

Let me share my experience - the roads over here, are not in good shape and I also don't hope for a smooth tarmac in near future. Used stock hero oil(Savita), followed by Motul fork oil but in both cases the front fork got bottomed out upon hitting the potholes. Being utterly frustrated, told my mechanic to pour Motul 5100 4T15W50 in the fork - as I kept the engine oil for top-up. Then the fun began....... Now, the bike can take the ditches without any hiccups.
I don't know that using engine oil in fork is good or bad, but I am using this setup for more than 6K km, tested on the most notorious roads in eastern regions, and it was fun riding altogether. On smooth road though, its not so comfortable.
Now, I love ditches, potholes where everybody slows down, I just fly over them with confidence.

Searched the internet and found that worldwide people are using ATF(automatic transmission fluid) for the forks - may be I'll try someday.

@ BPD....The Standard Fork oil is 10 weight, and for a stiffer forks Castrol and Motul offers 20 grade..still the state of by lanes and roads in most of India are so bad that fork bottoming is common in bikes with a longer and softer suspension.....so some use a heavier grade or multigrade like you did to get over the problem.....it is also seen that spacers are inserted in the fork on top of spring, to stiffen the spring and reduce bottoming...you can continue to use the oil without any ill effects.

Update:
Switched over to MRP Zapper C 120/80-18 for the rear, successor to CEAT vertigo Sport.

Initial Impressions:
1.The zapper feels a tad heavier and sluggish than the vertigo, since the contact area on the Zapper is larger than the Vertigo.
2. Zapper is definitely better than Vertigo on Tarmac and Wet surfaces, even if both new tyres are tested side by side.

Guys

I'm facing a issue(not a issue may be mind feels like that) with the front fronks. I get the feel the forks bottoms out on pot holes. i have been using savsol savita fork oil
which is very good. there is no leak from oil seal. I have carried out the standard methods of testing the shocks by going through the forum. the results are satisfying.

but still my mind feels like a issue with the forks. members can you recommend any other ways of checking it? not sure whether there is a issue or the potholes in chennai have got bigger.

I want to change the set up of rear shock. to my knowledge ZMA comes with 5 step adjustable schocks. My bike is running in factory set up. I guess it's a soft set up.

I need a bit more cushion for the pillion. which setup will be good? which way I need to adjust? guess it's clockwise?

also pls suggest whether i have to go for MRF or ceat standard sized tyres?

Trust me brother, the rear shock absorbers may be on harder side but it works like a charm on bad roads. I must say, the shock absorbers saved me couple of time due to its precise rebound effect - I was not thrown away after hitting huge ditches while riding at night.

The 'factory setting' is not the softest one, you can find the 'hinge' on position 2. Ask any mechanic to do it for you, just a matter of few minutes.

Brother, I believe in stock. The motorcycle has been extensively tested by experts on several miles before it became ready for production. So I believe keeping the motorcycle in stock condition, which is a fine balance between reliability, longevity and economy.

Up size tyre resulting unnecessary stress on chain-sprocket, clutch assembly and the engine. It may also effect fuel economy. What you'll get in return? Safety? No.

pravinan , if there are no leaks from fork tubes, bike doesn't get sided when you leave the handle bar, when you brake, there is no jerk like movement from front wheel then your bike is 80% good, what we cannot tell is how good is the fork action and if the handlebar gets side or stays tight in a fixed position when you slowly try oscillating from right to left.
Most of the time we often get worked and that is normal, only a thorough checks could change our perception.

Just rode within my street on a well thared road, the brake from the feel as if riding a ABS, a pulse kicks in front the brakes and also the bike steers to left while braked hard.

I remember a post by PSR sir mentioned about a disk plate change when the similar query is reported. Should I change the disk pad and disk plate altogether?
