Where do you fill your tank? Do you use the same fuel station every time? If yes. It is time to change the fuel point.. also follow the full tank to full tank method.. it gives an accurate FE..

So there is a slight decrease(around 5% - 10%) in FE, with our bike compared to the stock bike, mainly due to the upjetting of the Carburettor,

Also checked up at 5000 rpm on the fifth gear we are at 70 - 80 km/hr.

I have only filled it once till date, leaving out the petrol i got at the showroom. I filled up a full tank at 67.2kms on the tripmeter and at exactly 151.6kms the 2nd bar on the reading dissapeared. I will do a full tank test and then let you guys know.

Ok I know what the problem is brother.

you see at the time of delivery the dealer fills roughly 350ml petrol in the bike, which is not much. So the bike blinks the low fuel warning. Then we take it to the petrol pump and fill it with 500 rs of petrol which is about 6.5 liters. Now the engine is brand new, not smooth and travels about 100 kms and the low fuel warning again comes up. This is because the fuel gauze is not accurate and starts blinking when there is about 4 liters of fuel left in the tank instead of 2 liters. We think that bike has hit reserve fuel which is 2 liters, but actually there is more fuel than we think.

The same thing happened to me in my R15 a few months ago. It hardly gave me 25 kmpl, and the low fuel started to blink so I filled it up to brim and found that it had more than 4 liters of fuel left when bike hit reserve . Also the mileage and smoothness increases after 1st service. I got about 40 kmpl after the first service.

So dont worry too much, I have read all your posts from the previous pages and you seem to be taking good care of your bike. Relax and enjoy your new ride. Mileage will get better after fist service.

Did your bike come to reserve or are you measuring with the blinking gauge? If the latter, then you are doing it wrong. If i am correct, karizma comes with reserve and main knob..
The Karizma has reserve and main knob so it is easier to say when the bike hits reserve...

I own a zma. guess zma and zmr have the same speeds along the rpm range. on the basis of psr sir post, i learnt for every 1k rpm the the speed increase 15.xx. i guess both zma and zmr have the same value of speeds/rpm. difference may be zmr as it's a FI bike

i always calculate mileage on the basis of full tank method and the final bar and second bar in the display goes off quickly. generally from my experience, 3rd, 4th,5th stands off for a long time

top speed and rpm: 3k= 50, 4k= 60- 62. 4.5= around 70-72 80 @5k.

Thats where the speedo error crops up in ZMA. ZMR has the most accurate speedometer with minimum error %..

AFAIK, the Karizma will show less speed compared to ZMR. for ZMR the speed to power ratio is calculated as 1.6 kmph per n*1000rpm/100 and for ZMA it is 1.5 kmph * n*1000 rpm / 100 where n is the RPM value

This is the calculation given by [MENTION=32286]psr[/MENTION] sir..

i know the speeds indicated on zma are not accurate. those are just speedo indicate speeds.

it took some time for me to arrive at the results on the basis of 1.6 kmph per n*1000rpm/100 and for ZMA it is 1.5 kmph * n*1000 rpm / 100 where . blame my mathematical knowledge.

hero should market the zmr as bike with more mileage in 200cc class and accurate speedo

My bad, i should have given an explanation..

1.6*5*1000/100 to get the speed at 5K rpm which works out to 80 kmph for a ZMR

1.5*5*1000/100 to get the speed at 5K rpm which works out to 75 kmph for a Karizma

Yes, its 15kmph/1000 RPM on a ZMA and 16 kmph/1000 RPM on a ZMR in 5th cog.

I have a query regarding air block. It happens some time in traffic. At signal, if i turn off the engine and then immediately start it, it starts and stop in 2 seconds as soon as it reaches idle RPM. Then, i have to open the tank lid and close it to start the bike in the first go.

this happens to me very rarely. I maintain atleast 3 bars of fuel everytime and this issue hasn't surfaced since i started having 3 bars of fuel everytime. guess it's due to air locking

It could also mean the rubber bush on your tank cap isnt doing its job. This could also be a reason for your low mileage. Maybe the rubber bush is letting out fuel and letting air in.. just a theory.. how old is your bike?? Sorry. I have a bad memory..
