ride gently. i would say keep it below 4000 rpm for the first 1000kms, then for the next 1000kms ride in different rpm. go to chance to ride new karizma r. the bottom end was amazing and was better than my karizma r. the bike feel quicker. was able to touch 135 without crouching.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

i felt the stock 2014 zma r blows of my zma r. we had a ride in chennai highway. here is a comparison. we did not have any timming devices and speeds are speedo indicated with riders weighing 67 and 73 kgs. my stock zma would take a bit of time past 115 and take a long time preferably a long stretch to go past 125 and crouching to get near 127-130. but the 2014 zma feels more sprited between 115 and 125 and touches 130 easily and was able to touch 135.

I change gears at 3k RPM.

H/L is 35w. Battery is MF.

what tips you would give to new bikers and for new bike both ?

Actually, at lower RPM, as mentioned in above query, throttle is fluctuating and hence, i'm keeping it around 3k to ride it smoothly. I'm taking the bike to SC and see what those guys say about it.

The battery is 6ah. Does battery affects the throttling problem?

The h/l is sufficiently ok. not that great.

        Is the 35 w h/l giving sufficient light ?
        is battery 7ah or 9ah ?

Take it easy.. dont rush .. dont push your bike or yourself to the limit.

          Hi,

          thanks for the welcome,

Regarding the 2.5 bhp increase that was mentioned by motorbeam, it is something that we have mentioned to motorbeam as a presumption and even lamented on the fact that were no two wheeler dyno's avaiable in mumbai. We would love to get it tested if possible in mumbai.

We weren't after BHP increases but we had three goals in mind while making the Fortpoint Racing Karizma R,
          1. It had to be faster,
          2. It should be attractive to look at,
          3. It should handle better,

I hope that we have met these three goals and would look at expanding our portfolio to Even the ZMR soon enough, the only issue being we haven't been able to crack the ECU.

We had to be very careful with what we were offering as all our Modification do not void your warranty and we offer insurance on these parts as well,

Also Overdrive has covered us in the November Issue this month(page 158/159)

it is indeed a wonderful news for us. reliability is a major criterion when it comes to touring and I would love to have my bike rev all the way upto 12K RPM. Basically, I am not a speed lover but I love to cruise on the highways at speeds of 100 to 110 kmph.. at these speeds my ZMR 2010 gives me a FE of 45-47 kmpl.. will this modification at any cost affect the mileage riding at the same speeds? at times I do WOT when I see someone trying to race me (very rare these days).. Also owning a ZMR, I don't think I want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere and this is why I care more for reliability after modification as the spare parts for my bike is kind of difficult to get.

Can you suggest what speed the bike does at 5K RPM in 5th gear?? I usually cruise between 5K and 6K RPM on the highways..

What is the mileage you are getting?? I feel 10 - 20 kmpl is simply awful as even the Duke 390 and RE 500 returns the same FE figures.. Take your bike on a highway run.. vary the RPMs.. go upto 90 kmph and maintain at that speed for say 3-5 seconds.. this will help the engine adapt to such conditions.. then gradually slow down and ride it at 40 - 50 kmph..

AFAIK, riding a new bike on highways gives the engine a perfect feel and a perfect run in as you don't have to apply clutch or brakes often..

                Debatable!
Riding in city gives you more often than not the opportunities to shift through all gears. Whereas on a highway, you may just forget changing gears.
Ya, but on bikes like RC/Duke etc, city isn't enough for the powerband.

My run in was from Mogappair to Thirumangalam to CMBT to Guindy to Thoraipakkam on a daily basis till 500 kms. After that, I shifted to Thiruvanmiyur so that I was closer to office. But, within a week of me shifting, my office shifted to Siruseri.
