Hi Divya, for last 2 oil change I filled Motul 20w40 mineral oil. Today I filled Shell Ax7 at 14k kms.

Yes clutch freeplay is OK I think, clutch lever feel is not to hard or loose.

One more thing, once SVC mechanic set clutch lever hard, after hard clutch it was easy to find neutral and downshift but because hard clutch tends to decrrase life of clutch plates, I insisted mechanic to set clutch in stock setting and then again neutral finding problem came back.

Ankit, to find neutral fast and to down shift from higher gears easily, just blip the throttle a bit with clutch closed and then try down shifting. Try to go to neutral from first gear, it would be easy. Once you get used to this method, you would do this automatically.

Hi Ravi, Somehow I have practiced this technique and doing it but no other person apart from me can bring my bike in neutral, even experienced mechanics.

My mechanic suggestion scares me that clutch and pressure plates are faulty and need to be changed to rectify this problem.

Hi ZMA owners, I recently purchased a used Karizma 2005 model and intend to use it as my primary mode of transportation for around 6 months. There is no technical fault with the bike and it runs like a dream. The paint has faded though and the fairing panels vibrate away happily at the slightest touch. I am planning to change all the fiber parts soon in case I plan on keeping the bike longer.

I was only worried about crash protection. Since the bike cannot be fitted with crash guards, is there any way to protect the fairing in case of a fall?

How about some good news? Stunner's crash guard is a direct fit.

              • what is the solution for Brake noise ?

                Hi friends ,
i own a zma 2008 model, the rear brake makes a disgusting 'screeching' noise ,even it's slightly wet. very recently i changed the brake shoes too. in the last service i asked the asc guys to clean the brakes, they even charged for that. but still the problem persists. Help me in diagnosing the problem. it's been a greater menace in this monsoon rides.

                • Completed Golden Jubilee kms on the bike

                  Hey All,

Sorry for being out from the thread for quite some time now, all due to busy work schedule. But now i should be more active here.

First, I would like to Congratulate all the new ZMA owners (be it brand new, pre-worshipped) and welcome to the ZMA club (I know you folks must have already been settled down here thanks to PSR sir, Sriram, Ravi, Ashwin & many more long time runners on the ZMA).

My silver falcon has completed 50k kms on the odo just last week and touchwood it is going strong. Currently running on following setup:
                  1. Shell Ultra FS oil 10w40 & the bike just loves it .
                  2. 9amp amaron sealed battery
                  3. NGK G-power plug
                  4. 55/60w Philips extreme main bean using a relay
                  5. Roots dual horn using a relay
                  6. 1 35w Hid in a Hella 550 lamp(provision to attach another also )
                  7. Front 80/100/80 ZMR tubeless tyre
                  8. Rear 100/90/18 Sirac street (due replacement in coming months)
                  9. Removed Accelerator cable B (it had snapped & the svc did not have it, plus now the throttle has become quite revv friendly)

Ohh yeah, just forgot about the Million $$ question of Kitna deti hai!!. In the city it gives 39-40kmpl with a sane riding & shifting at 3.5-4k rpm. On the highways it returns 40-42kmpl with a speed of 80-90kmph on the odo.

                  Happy riding all!!.

                  Vishal

I'd still advice putting it back! Try another ASC for the same.

                      Hey,

Any particular reason to have it in place. I understand the B cable is just used to ease of the returning of the throttle body(say it acts like a retainer). But if it gets jammed/snaps out, the complete acceleration goes for a toss. Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect here.

Recently I see a new way my bike's electrical work. Strange, but I take it as a symptom. My "Extreme Vision"ed ZMA with a 9amp amaron is running on stock wiring. Very recently when the engine is idling all the lights (headlight, parking lights, instrument light, indicators, even the horn) exhibit a sort of flicker in them. Like a AC circuit found in splendor. When throlled up, the flicker does vanishes, but the intensity of the lit from all the above were dim, a bit. I think this might be/is a symptom of some component gonna give up soon. With respect to this issue, I charged my battery very recently and the output from the battery when throttled up shows well above 14 something in a multi meter. I suspect the rectifier is showing a sign of age. is that really? an opinion towards it would be much welcomed. By the way, I wish all lads a prosperous diwali!

Your understanding is correct! True, if cable B snaps, it leads to erratic throttle movement, but in its absence, cable A has to do both the jobs - throttle up and down and I feel it *might* lead to a faster wear resulting in cable A snapping as well.

I too have removed the B cable and running on A cable only. But I regularly ensure the cable is lubricated frequently and yes I even carry a spare A cable incase the cable snaps.

15,000.- and you get 2.5 HP ?....the HP claim must be substantiated with Dyno chart....The ZMA engine RPM is limited to 9,500 RPM by Honda design, because engine is safe to operate within this RPM only....exceeding it is a one way street to destroyed engine internals. The Manufacturer knows the design parameters ,and had accordingly used metallurgy, component tolerance and stress capability. Not advisable to do mods...stay away from it and save your money and engine...
