If properly placed it won't hit any other part .Originally posted by sunny_ View PostSir, in my opinion if you place aux lamps there in your Karizma, heading upwards then it will hit the fairing part/number plate holder etc whenever the front shocks are pressed due to uneven surface maybe. An idea from me, is that as you have installed the crash guard, get it properly fit and then attach the aux lamps on the crash guard itself(as seen on Bappa Da's bike; xBhp id onwheels, location Kolkata), reasons:
1. It will increase the spread of the light produced by the aux lamps as they will be placed at some greater distance, as compared to when they are placed at your mentioned place.
2. It will look more "rally" type.
But this light won't turn with handle as you wrote in the last line, when placed on the crash guard, but will definitely cover up the entire area of the road even during a turn!
Also, the setup seen in the image from the internet that you've posted, will be actually "wasting" some light as less than half of the throw from both aux lamps will be on the front tire etc.
these views are what I thought when seeing the pic, it may vary from person to person.
If placed on the crash guard , even though the spread will be more , the shadows will also be more . . so will the amount of light on the bike parts .
Looks don't matter that much to me ( unless they are really ugly - like a Bajaj auto H/L - no offense meant , it suits the auto perfectly , but doesn't suit my bike !!!
)
Dual aux on crash guard ( on either side ) would be awesome if they are 35W HID !!
The one real problem I see is that it has to suffer each and every bump/pothole on the road and on one of those imperfections it may choose to retire permanently !! That might be the defining moment !!

I'm on to the crash guard first - once I get it to my liking I may turn to aux lamps - most probably on the crash guard itself ...sigpic

This exact same Tide-Water(veedol) made HH oil selling in one kolkata shop for 175 RsOriginally posted by ashwinprakas View Post...Will complete 500Kms any moment, so bought 900ML 10W30 High Poorformance Engine Oil from Hero Honda. for 200/-
The reason I opted for this was cause during my previous run-in I noted that the 20W40(Gulf Pride 4T) kinda paused the run-in process. There was no difference with the bikes engine when I shifted from 150Kms to 500Kms(1st Service) and only when the SVC guys poured back the usual I started experiencing changes to my engine as I rode on.

There is a 20w40 HONDA mineral oil made by same Tide water oil Co., which I had started using in my Karizma now...The oil is only 250Kms old so no long term report possible..but what I found was initially the oil was like Gulf Pride20w40,and was soft, but now it has grunt and accelerates fast..will see how it works after 1 K Kms .Originally posted by Pinaki View PostThis exact same Tide-Water(veedol) made HH oil selling in one kolkata shop for 175 Rs

Sir, I have tried to fix the aux lamps of different shapes on several positions on my Karizma. In most of the places, I have seen that the light beam is getting obstacted (at least 25%) by the body parts. Only on crash guard I have got a good beam with very less obstacle.Originally posted by acs1207 View PostIf properly placed it won't hit any other part .

Actually TDC in ZMA is another joke.Originally posted by Neil.Bhujbal View PostCan anyone who has opened the Head of karizma or seen it being opened tell me at TDC does piston height (Top) equal to the (Top) height of block ?
We have to make custom clamps for getting the max spread on the road.Originally posted by on wheels View PostI have seen that the light beam is getting obstacted (at least 25%) by the body parts.

They were procrastinating and were themselves not sure when they can deliver. In fact they said they had 71 ZMA booking of which only 10 could be delivered so far. Also commuting by Car is really a pain so i decided to get the money back. If you see had they been in position to deliver in a reasonable time they would not have adviced me to cancel the booking and get full refund.
That said my ZMA hunt is still on. The plus side of owning a pre-owned will be getting to the Streetfighter look earlier plus other possible mods :-).

Got my current ZMA in a similar method. After the first one was totalled, i wanted get another while trying to mend it, ended up contacting the local dealer hoping that the wait time would be around 1 - 2 months but i was told that the wait time was a whopping min. 6+ months for a ZMA-ROriginally posted by shubhamAT View PostThough not very happy about this,i ended up cancelling my ZMA booking. Got full refund. Will now be scouting for a pre-owned one (or if dealer informs me that one is available immediately). Lets see how the search goes.
(this is about 1.5 yrs ago), left the dealer - went to a pre-owned bike seller and found a well maintained ZMA and brought it home. I did end up spending quite a bit on repairs though although it was well maintained... Hope you find one soon in good shape or better, a new one from a dealer.

Lets see how things shape up. I am mentally prepared that a pre-owned will require some cash inflow to bring it to normal level.Originally posted by Brat View Postwent to a pre-owned bike seller and found a well maintained ZMA and brought it home.
