The HH 10w30 becomes bad at 600 to 800 Kms,and a Gulf pride 4T plus 20w40 or the Honda 20w40 (any JASO MA2 certified 20w40) oil will last 2,000 Kms.using oil beyond this is generally not preferred, due to the oil loosing it's viscosity, and accumulating contaminants.
In Fi with ECU it is possible to alter the setting of injector and ignition settings through a matching connector and programmer...
All Karizmas have a rev limiter operating at 9250 to 9500 RPM.You can hit the rev limiter in 4th gear but not in the 5th due to the tall 5th gear ratio in ZMA.
The ZEN MPFi filter was used by me due to non availability of stock filter and found to give better breathing .I was not looking for performance enhancement.
    truely Sir,
your feedback and experience has brought a change in xbhp ,now the members here are more active and interested in learning.
You truely have been a hero for us I have been reading all post of yours going across these 970 pages and truely u have came out as a life saver to all , well as far as u coming to Kolkata is concerned u are always welcome by heart and will definitely plan some day to meet you while I visit your city.

Thanks for your kind words ..In fact the Control panels for the Kolaghat power station consisting 3 units of 3x200 megawatt generation were inspected and passed by me in the 90s....hope they are still working good.
You really have a lot of patience to go through the thread's pages meticulously....hope they were informative and helpful to you.

Sir i have a doubt,Oils looses viscosity and changes its color to black because they are doing their job well, right? But when i used Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40,even at 1800kms,the oil looks new, even though there is a slight change in color, it still looked like new oil,Does this means that the oil is not working or not cleaning the internals? Whats the problem here?

Okay invite me to your city then
The HH 10w30 becomes bad at 600 to 800 Kms,and a Gulf pride 4T plus 20w40 or the Honda 20w40 (any JASO MA2 certified 20w40) oil will last 2,000 Kms.using oil beyond this is generally not preferred, due to the oil loosing it's viscosity,"and accumulating contaminants".
By accumulating contaminants, you mean? What exactly are they?

Then how my bro's Karizma stick at some 8k rpms in 5th whereas mine goes upto 8.5k or so? (130-133 kph and 135+ kph respectively)
The ZEN MPFi filter was used by me due to non availability of stock filter and found to give better breathing .I was not looking for performance enhancement.
Alright Sir, I also want my engine to breathe properly then

OMG!! So when we were riding there it was due to you that the street lights were glowing there and the Dhabas, were we halted for breaks, were given electricity. WOW Sir, salute to you!

I'd also like to know the reason behind this.

Never ask question in bold inside quotes,Its difficult to quote and reply.

I think he meant metal shavings.

            No way for this.

The oil has two enemies to it's integrity..The first is HEAT the second is contaminants..Heat we all know is what the engine generates, and ripping causes hot spots and causes oil to deteriorate...The second contaminant comes in many form..first of all the combustion residue to carbon, hot gases escaping through piston rings into the area below piston, acids formed during combustion also washed down through the rings, and of course the metal particles that arise out of engine moving part...all these increase depending on our driving style and engine condition...A worn engine leaks more combustion gases than a set good engine..It is this combustion residues which changes the color of the oil..
If your oil look good after 1,800 Kms then it means the engine is in good condition /you don't rip your engine..

I don't know if you are pulling my leg because ,actually it is the tax payer's money being put back to give/distribute electricity to you..My job was to ensure that the control instruments of the generation is in good condition and as per specification, before installation..that's all.Design, Construction and Maintenance of the system takes lots more Knowledge, ability and perseverance...so compared to those who do it..I am a Nobody..
I guess i answered your oil questions in my answers to @Aneesh....
Regarding the speed difference between your's and your brother's It is dependent on the engine's condition and carb setup only...because both bikes are at 8 K RPM, which is well below the limiter value.

Sir, no I meant even your small contribution was there na, such a long time back. Yes Sir, the query was very well answered.
After next service I'm gonna play with his carb settings and re-check

bro by looking at your bike pic's i think you have got it painted because in back side cowl some area is looking dark while some are lite or its due to light effect.

All that psr said ... plus 20w40 oil being thicker than 10w30 will cause better seal between cylinder & piston and thereby less blow-by gases . (You can readily feel the better compression achieved , which is why I also recommend 20w50 for old abused engines run for more than 100K kms ). Blow-by is the major source of contaminants in the engine , including carbon , sulphuric acid etc deadly things for the engine & bearings . Moreover the better lubrication & cushioning effect of the thicker oil on bearings and metal-to-metal contact areas will mean less wear and less metal particles . Less heat stress too . Less degradation owing to lower proportion of viscosity improver additives . All contributing to your oil getting dirty much much slower than the thin oil . Also keep in mind that while the dirtyness(for want of a better word) of the oil is not evident on inspecting a few drops from the dip-stick , when you drain it at 2k kms , it'll be quite dirty as well viewed as the whole volume .

It is for riding leisurely along at 40kmph constantly & without any traffic with clean petrol in cool & squeaky clean countries like Japan I think . Gulf came up with this particular info much after the oil came to the market , right after HeroHonda started to recommend their oil for 6000kms . Anyway, don't try it .
