Mine's an '08 ZMA-R. It has clocked in excess of 50k on the odo now, although i try my best to maintain it. It may have lost a pony or two over the years. I have had some bad experiences with mods on my previously owned ZMA and CBZ, It basically compromised reliability. Therefore, decided to keep this one in pristine stock condition.

Even I had the same thought, but on highways when cars overtake me at 130+kph I feel very disappointed. Further, recently saw 1 busa and 2 R1's on the highway, 1 R1 was having Akrapovic exhaust and the busa with two brothers'; they were disappearing from my sight-- and that was the day since then I'm very much interested to go for atleast a new custom exhaust, atleast for a try.

The plug center electrode and ground electrode both are V grooved...this splits the spark area into two and also makes it smaller..this improves fuel charge ignition.First done by NGK,then DENSO,and others...

For the FE to remain the same, did you have to run bit of a rich mix to compensate for the additional air entering the chamber and get a good burn? Was puzzled with the same FE since i thought we'll need to increase compression along while increasing jet & air intake for good FE?
I had not done any other mod except on carb slide , at a later date. The ZEN filter is not like having a totally porous filter..it is a paper filter which always have a residual amount of restriction, unlike a K&N which allows everything....so no change to any carburettor setting or jets.
Wish psr'd Think 2-stroke V-twin and all my ever present RD problems would magically get solved.
I did happen to work on small level on a RD 350 to increase in mileage, and after riding it became enamored with speed, and the Exhaust note at higher RPMs,.... hence a MVX 250 at a later date.
Back then there were no CDI and had to struggle with points type Ignition, and even jets were not available...a seized bore meant 6 months waiting for parts. Many of my friends sold their RDs for throw away price seeing the amount of maintenance and it's cost...There were no takers for a Mint condition RD350 with only 15 K on ODO at 15,000/-. Even at 9 to 10 K good RDs were available....but now the scenario is totally changed..

As long as you're having fun with the mods, i'd say go for it!
Although, i think like most of us, you are craving the inevitable "MORE BHP"

I don't want a big bore, only exhaust for now as I've to do 50kms daily. Details about the same are welcome.

I'd rather say more "power to weight ratio"

A Big bore will give you best of both the world...better Power and FE....but if you want to do above 140 Kmph look elsewhere...ie., Go for Ninja 650..It is the best VFM product now and can do 150 to 160 all day. The recommended run in period speed is 100 Kmph...so you can understand..It will be a one time investment and you will be happy with it,since it is an Inline engine with less vibes.

something tells me that one of these days, the ZMA is going to clock those speeds

Yes, but currently Kwackers are not allowing for bookings due to unforeseen excessive demand from the Indian 600cc market. So, go for a GT650R delivery in 20 days with regn. Meaty looks with infamous v-twin vibes

Reminds me of my friend's venture to run a Fury 175cc 2stroke -it's cdi had gone kaput and replacement was not available . (In those days , I was there with him whenever he laid hands on his bikes .) Never one to give up , he connected the CB points of a Bullet to the bike and finally the engine was alive . We took it ( pushed) and started again . So far so good . I asked him to take a test ride & he said OK . He revved the engine a couple of times ( some one should've taken snaps of the smiles on our faces then ) , flicked the gear into 1st and released the clutch lever . BINGO . . .the Fury took off - - -backwards !!! .Seems the timing was slightly off ! Finally , we did get to run it normally . It's still there with his other bikes - RE535,Yezdi 250 , Java 250 , Avenger 180 and one 50 cc Demm !

but for now, I want max from my Kizma R. And thanks for the suggestions

Alright bro, thanks Yeah bigger capacity doesn't impliy poor FE that I understand but as Brat said he compromised with the reliability, I don't want that also

Cause I've seen many Vegas with visors that'r intact, when I asked the shopkeeper, even he advised to go visor less since I wear specs.
And its good to see you've got rid of the hat part, cause at speeds excess 110kmph the wind tends to pull your head upwards.

and i am just 5'8" thats not so bad for an Indian Karizma R pretty much suits anyone above 5'6" . well saw the spark plug colur?
                                its rich i suppose

Guess we'r about the same height.

and @ashwin i am a tough guy bro

Yeah bro. As I said, you look cool.

                                The bike is stock otherwise.
Oh ...I had " V " grooved my Spark Plug.

Sir, by V groove did you mean that you made it like that by yourself, or you went and bought the V power spark plugs.???? And if by chance you've made it, please post the pics and instructions.

I could see that many metal parts in my zma started to rust .I know its monsoon in chennai and I could compromise myself with that. But my 2.5years old unicorn has seen rain n heat that my zma.
