Yes I want to ask the same.Originally posted by psr View PostThe tool kit which comes with the bike is for basic maintenance and so no need for purchase of any additional tools...unless you are into DIY of chain and sprocket change, tappet adjustment etc.,
Also, the cover that is opened in order to change engine oil is very tight...and I don't know how to open it
Which tool??

If you mean the drain bolt it is 17 size and you have a spanner in the kit...If it is very tight then you have to buy a 17 size RING spanner,or better still get it loosened by your mech..the "O" ring normally gets destroyed in the process, so keep two to three "O" rings as spare ,since the Tappet door nuts, and oil drain nut are all the same..Originally posted by sunny_ View PostYes I want to ask the same.

If it is the oil filler/dip stick nut of white plastic ,near the kick starter, then use a Cutting pliers to loosen it.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

The spanner provided is unable to loosen it.Originally posted by psr View PostIf you mean the drain bolt it is 17 size and you have a spanner in the kit...If it is very tight then you have to buy a 17 size RING spanner,or better still get it loosened by your mech..the "O" ring normally gets destroyed in the process, so keep two to three "O" rings as spare ,since the Tappet door nuts, and oil drain nut are all the same..

Also, saw a ring type cover and a helical spring attached to it when the mech changes engine oil...Whats its use? Read somewhere that it should be in proper order...something like that

This is what you are talking about, part 4 is the drain nut,17 the "O" Ring,.....7,the spring to retain the oil filter in place, and 6 ,the oil filter...assembly is in this order...Originally posted by sunny_ View PostThe spanner provided is unable to loosen it.

You get wear the elbow gurads over the jacket & the knee guards under the pants. Also for Rs.3500/- you will not get a good branded jacket here in India, unless & untill someone here is selling it because of size mismatch. You can check the below mentioned sites for the jackets & request somebody to bring it in from US.
Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories ? BikeBandit.com / MotorcycleGear.com (the new name of New Enough) :: Motorcycle Jackets, Helmets, Gloves, Boots, Luggage, Parts and More!
I have ordered both my jackets & gloves from these sites & they are very good & you can also have an online chat with them. They are very helpful.
Hope this helps.
next month i ll buy the pads !!

The Motul 3100 20w40 was good for the past 1500km. It did a good job in the city and in the highway as well.
It needed a change now and went out looking for some oil. Was in the mood to experiment. The dealer asked me to try the Shell AX7 10w40 semi-synthetic saying its very good for the zma. MRP was Rs350 but he gave it for Rs320. There was a scratch coupon on the side and it said Rs100. So the dealer gave back 100 bucks!
220 bucks for a can of semi-synthetic Shell? Sounds like a fair deal!
Came home, drained out the old oil and put in this. Not much difference could be noticed though. The gear shifts seemed to be smoother and the engine did not require the warm up time which is required for the 20w40. Have anyone else tried this oil?

Can you sum up the best oil for me? The original HH oil last for some hundred kms (say, 500) but after then I lose the same feel
Motul 300V or Motul 3100 or Shell AX7? Or anything better?

Today morning fired the bike up as usual. And everything went fine... Did 110~115Kmph with pillion. Even the pillion said the bike's almost retained its original glory. But in the evening during the ride back, the bike felt rough, as in very rough. The bike vibe'd hard after passing the 4k mark, even the pillion felt the vibes all the way back to the saree guard.
I guess the climate temperature has some play in the above matter. BTW am currently running on 10W30 HH oil out by SVC during my last service 400kms back. So any ideas guys???
And by the time I reached back home, the bike was chil chilling real hard.Motorcycling Experience:
2000 ~ 2017 Y2K Kinetic Zoom (Disposed at 15k)
2011 ~ 2015 Hero Honda Karizma R (Sold at 56.5k)
2013 ~ 2014 Bajaj Discover 100 4G (Sold at 16.5k)

If you ride only inside the city, say for a few kms a day, go for a good 10w30 oil. Haven't used any 10w30 except the HH oil so can't comment. If its for somewhat long distances and touring, 20w40 would be much better. I felt the Motul 3100 20w40 to be really good. Costed 200 bucks for the litre and it was definitely worth it!Originally posted by sunny_ View PostNavratri Bonus for you

Most of the time spent is on highways. Which will be better FS or SS?
In the 10w30 category, I got to know from the Hero Honda Karizma ZMR ownership thread, that Honda FS 10w30 for the CBR250R is the cheapest costing around some Rs500 ... I stay in Calcutta, so suggest me an oil according to the weather conditions here(humid, hot and winters start late and are not so chilling)
Why mineral, Sir?Originally posted by psr View PostChange to 20W40 mineral.
Whats the differences between normal and mineral?
Also, please help me choosing an engine oil

The normal Oil is Mineral Oil and 20W40 works best in our climatic conditions.Semi synth and fully synths may lead to oil leak or oil consumption depending on the engine condition...so a Normal mineral oil is always a safe bet to have in the engine.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostWhy mineral, Sir?

Go for Gulf PRIDE 4T plus , or Valvoline, or Shell AX series mineral, or HP DTSi 20W40...all these oils are normal Mineral oil which will be good for at least 1,500 Kms to 2,000 kms after which you have to change them. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Sir, these leaking issues, wherever I read about them, get me worried.Originally posted by psr View PostThe normal Oil is Mineral Oil and 20W40 works best in our climatic conditions.Semi synth and fully synths may lead to oil leak or oil consumption depending on the engine condition...so a Normal mineral oil is always a safe bet to have in the engine.

I wanted to go for Motul 300V or any Fully Synthetic oil, I don't know much but wanted an oil that can run 2000 kms atleast and the performance should also be almost constant throughout its presence. The normal HH oils which they offer lose the initial feel after some 500kms(according to me). By your suggestions, I think I should try the Shell AX7 that MaxZMA also mentioned...Lets see.
