  • Installed M45 4.00 x 18 rubber.. The Michelin authorized dealer seems to know what he is doing and the fit seems quite nearly perfect without any alterations.

Went for a short 120km ride after installation and the grip levels have tremendously improved but acceleration seems to have suffered a little bit, not significantly though. Overall, quite happy with the new rubber since it takes care of a weird handling issue i've been having lately.

Next... To address the valve door/O-ring oil leak and AFR issue. Switching to Motul 3000 4T Plus from tomorrow onwards.

          • Today had a brief meet with our Jerin bro from TVM,(sorry Aneesh was running abit late and had to run some errands for mom, thats why I didnt come for you.) His ride just completed close to 6k and surprisingly had the same engine noise that I've been facing for a while. The Chil Chil, and he's also facing the drag in performance. Talking about that, received a call from SVC saying that they've received the Cylinder kit and wanted me to drop the bike for a whole 2 days, the reason was that they need to ride and test the bike throughly before handing it back(I dont like the idea, though.).

So I guess am back to square one, guys... CLUELESS!!!

I get the same noise slightly when bike is hot i havnt ridden other Karizma's so far so cannot judge anything like that eventhough i dont personally feel any lag in perfomance of my bike

By loss in performance I mean drop in top speed. Now my bike tops out at 115Kmph with pillion and 120kmph solo.

i have never got a chance to check top speed but my bikes needle was still climbing without any problem even after 120kmph but same trouble again, didnt get enough road to stretch more . This speed was reached within 500 metres and 120 is not a bad top speed even the company says its only 125 under standard conditions.

Same with me, havent got enought road, mine touches 120kmph within 500meters easily, and there's no point in saying that the needle will climb unless you actually see it there.

Anyways I've learnt a lesson, no matter how you ride you'r ride's going to give away sooner or later.

Thought the company states 125kmph many users here have done close to 140kmph.

This is the most weird excuse to me, to be frank. If you really want to check the top speed you'll hunt for such a highway and/or such a time period when the density of vehicles is low enough to find a clear visible road ahead to do succh speeds. You touched 120 but did not get a chance to cross 120 that means you're dangerously doing 120, and as soon as you touch 120 you're releasing the throttle or so.

Forget what company claims. Yamaha claims 132kph for a FZ-16, is it really so? NO! When you don't believe on what company states in "Mileage" field how can you trust it in the field "top speed". Those data are under optimum conditions. Correct me if I'm wrong, my dear seniors. And stock Karizma does 132-133kph easily and whenever my bike tops below 130 kph(solo) I find that there is some problem, recent one was the Carb slide problem according to psr Sir and earlier it was lack of air flow to the air filter due to something placed under the seat....The bike was refusing to go past 122kph, with pillion.

I'm planning to do a 1600km round trip also touching Waynad this month. I'm not able to find spares easily in Chennai.
Can someone help me getting basic spares like clutch, accelerator and sprocket kit? PM me the details.
Aneesh, can you check at near SVC, if these are available?

I disagree with you on that one. Cause till date no indian company has ever shown their bikes true speed i.e speed gun.

Lock by tightening the lock nut .Take care to put some engine oil beforehand on the gauge leaf to prevent sticking or damage to it or adjusting nuts . Furthermore opening the tappet covering bolts (tap bolts) is easy with spanner even , but to refit them correctly you should use a torque wrench , or be adept at tightening nuts to near accurate torque by hand feel only . Bit too loose , the thread there will leak oil under heat stress . Bit over torqued ( over tigthened ) , and the case shall form microscopic cracks on the engine case there
Is there any chance of the above happening with ZMA's???? Cause I intend to do the setting using normal spanners.

You don't have to agree with me.

To all :- FYI...125 acheived on speedo is NOT equal to true speed. We purchase bike from company and they gifted us with speedo console with defects i.e speedo errors +/- and this is very common among automobile industry.
