. Guess now you understand why I asked you not to get it replaced in the first place. Its a bike and its supposed to take some day to day beatings. So just for the sake of eyecandy dont go about replacing parts.

Clipons costs just 700/- but the damage they costs way above 15k... So think twice... And ZMA stock handle's the best....Originally posted by ankss View Posthmmm ... now am not going for it ...

ZMA Tappet Setting for Beginners.
Never ever go for clip ons,I had tried Hayabusa Local Clipon on the bike and will hit all the parts including the left and right fairings and it made a dent on my gas tank at the time of a fall!Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostClipons costs just 700/- but the damage they costs way above 15k... So please stay away from it,Stick to stock handlebar.:Karizma Parts Manual - https://picasaweb.google.com/1010125...rizmaCatalogue

Today's Escapede.
A guy in college brought his 2010 ZMA to college. Yellow bike, 35w HID kit with angel eyes and 9Led pilots, fitted with a RC1100 given directly to the carb using a divider thingi, that's also connected to the stock filter(he claims that he's using 2 filters at a time or something like that, by this setup.). The bike has'nt been upjetted, and he claimed that a mech had enabled his bike with ABS by installing an additional pin behind the pads(The brakes were very sensitive and did the exact opposite of ABS.). So anyways just for the sake of curiosity we traded bikes and after riding for 5 secs his bike stalled due to the K&N and I got back to my bike while he was kicking his. When I got on my bike, my usual pillion also got on with me and he said that he'd pillion-rided the other ZMA and that it had more initial power than mine. So just to prove he was wrong, I turned on the bike and shifted to 1st and slowly let go of the clutch. And when the bike was in motion, just to prove my point, I yanked the throttle to WOT and before I knew it, the front wheel was off the ground(Yipee!!! Power wheelie.) and according to the spectators the rear mud guard was barely an inch away from the ground, the bike went forward and started to lean sideward cause of my pillion so I had to put my leg out and bounce back the bike to straight path. I could hear screams and applause's from behind, we had'nt come down yet, went for a while in wheelie pose and finally the bike came down, and I rode off onto a lonely lane, stopped the bike and started rubbing my leg, cause it was hurting like hell. Got back to class limping and said I'd tripped on the stairs. Everyone there was cheering for me,and most of the guys said I was a professional stunter(Screw them.)... With the help of the same pillion I somehow managed to get back home, and now I'm in serious pain, but yet happy. Cause even though unknowingly I did my first wheelie and that too a Power Wheelie on my ZMA.Motorcycling Experience:

No more DIY's for now. Scheduled the Cylinder kit replacement to December cause then I'll be able to personally monitor them. And will also order the packing kit and O'Rings before hand so they'll also replace them in the process.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostHaha... nice, looks like you'll have more DIY session to go through!

Now the only thing I have to take care of is the over heating problem. The chil chil after the engines hot and the power loss issue.
Does going with Iridium's cause the bike to run lean. Cause am now running on 4 turns, yet the sparkplug kinda appears to be lean.

Going to iridium will not make all the difference. First, I would suggest you to run the bike as stock as possible for some time. If you start adding mods, if there is an issue, you'll not know which one kicked out. Post a picture of the plug.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostNo more DIY's for now. Some Updates
My Zma engine had been making lot of odd noises these days, took it to svc twice,1st time buggers sent me back without doing anything, second time after an argument agreed to adjust the tappets, but the noise was still there.Recently it had become much worse and i suspected more than just tappet issue.
Gave it for servicing yesterday and made it clear not to handover the bike to me without solving the noise problem.Got a call a hour later from the svc supervisor saying they suspect it to be issue with piston and they need to keep the bike for two days.
Got my bike today evening and they have changed the cylinder kit.Rode it for some 20 kms and the bike is smooth now.Have to do run-in all again, doing it on a new bike is ok but run-in on a bike which i already rode 11k km is a torture.
Break up
1.Cylinder kit-3185 rs (changed under warranty)
@ashwin:if you finished kissing the girl who invented warranty send her to me ,she deserves some from me too
2.Handle bar-240 rs (Had dropped the bike few days back)
3.Air filter-206 rs
4.Speedo Gear-13 rs (Last time they diagnosed the problem of inaccurate speedo as faulty sensor and it was to be replaced during this service )
5.Rubber handle weight-6 rs.
The mechanic had replaced the end weights by hunk ones(plastic ones) and when i enquired, both supervisor and mechanic making cock and bull stories "Its only for show sir both are same" blasted them nicely after which they bought the weights and all the rubbers were damaged and they said rubbers are not in stock, inquired at the spares counter and found all the rubbers,Real lazy buggers, made them replace the end weights.
Had a chat with the manager and he showed me the piston and cylinder(were lying in his cabin) there were scratches on the piston skirt and cylinder.
Now Back to run-in.

By that are you referring to the chil chil noise when the bikes hot(not tappet) or the loss in performance.Originally posted by curse View PostMy Zma engine had been making lot of odd noises these days, took it to svc twice,1st time buggers sent me back without doing anything, second time after an argument agreed to adjust the tappets, but the noise was still there.Recently it had become much worse and i suspected more than just tappet issue.
