What say about reducing cost by opting for the impulse body and zma engine?

I am not looking for the impulse body since I don't like the suspension setup. Even if you chose the bike, it won't be a simple cut-paste job. The engines being different, the mounts are bound to be different on frame. Jugaad job would be worse than using the Impulse as is.

Cost of second hand material for a 05 CRF 230F is coming to 850 odd USD, excluding shipping. Waiting for more details from friends as how to source them to India.

        • The cam chain tensioner on my 05 zma finally dropped dead today. Replaced it with a ZMA tensioner that cost around 420 bucks. Thanks to this thread, i didnt need to plonk in the zma tensioner that retails for around 2k!

Now for a quick question. As per the HH guys, the impulse fork inner tube are the same size of the zma tubes but are longer. Would it be a direct fit in the zma fork bottoms? I dont want extra travel but want to stop the damn headlamp from hitting the mudguard all the time. I am heavy boned!

Regarding headlamp: Havent found a pitch dark road to check the its performance completely during enroute to office. However, while returning home late night will be taking the ECR road to see how it works and to click some snaps!!

Absolutely no problem..But you will feel that the engine revs sluggishly, because a Synth has finer particles than SS or Mineral and is more slippery....

There are some D I Y involved in the conversion
                      1. The cage of battery to be replaced with old ZMA battery cage
                      2. Bolt bracket ,on ZMA lower frame for the 6 AH battery to be cut and painted to prevent corrosion.
                      3. New thicker wire from Battery to Self Start Relay to be fabricated ,since in 2011 ZMA the relay is to the right of battery and battery Positive is to the Left side.
                      4. A 2 inch plate to be drilled and bolted to the under side fitting bracket of the new Cage since the 9 ah cage has the bottom fixing about 1 inch away from the 6 AH battery cage.

                      • got my service today sitting in front of my mechanic and getting everything in order.
                        -Adjusted AFR 3.75 turn anticlockwise.
                        -Changed air filter
-Changed engine oil to hero honda oil will test gulf in next service
-Spark plug was running lean and got to know that it was NGK DPR-8 EA plug will get a new 1 soon as crossed 12k kms in market just DPR-7 was available so need to find DPR 8.
-Chain cleaning and lubrication done still not satisfied well does castrol 90 oil works good which company sae 90 oil should I look for as they used my engine oil to lubricate it which did not satisfied.
-Some oil leakage was on top of engine got it rectified will need to check though.
-Tappet adjusted a bit as there was a slight noise not that much audible.
-front disc pad cleaned and rubbed with a sand paper feel a little better to control maybe shift to rtr pads after some check
A huge list though and end up paying just 200 for the service 20 extra from myside 180+20=200as had provided the engine oil and air filter at own cost.

                        hope all comes out good
next change 9amp battery and philips extreme vision with 18smd led lights
