    • hello guys..what about using Philips moto vision 55/60w bulb suggested for motorcycles by philips for ZMA r 2011.since is it a new product (may be) im yet to find any reviews of it in any ZMA or others.. the bulb looks very much similar to that of a Philips xtreme power..I already bought a xtreme vision to plonk in my zma..But it went into my uncle's ZMA..Also I could see some posting very good reviews about Philips xtreme power..Im now in a dilemma whether to get the same Philps xtreme vision or xtreme power or the new moto vision. I believe all three bulbs listed above delivers the color output..(I mean the white tinge which the xtreme vision does and I need like it) please help

@ psr . Is there any way we can alter the gear ratios other than the change of front/rear sprocket ? What I mean is like - the RX100 gear box can be fitted with the 5 gears of RX135 , means like altering the gear ratios internally .
The first 4 gears in ZMA are meant to take care of city riding, and the final 5th gear for highway cruising..The Problem here is that the 5 th is too tall..The 4 is 1:1 while the 5th is 0.8....I don't know if any other gear can be fitted inside to make 5th 0.9 or 0.85 ..May be CBZ gear ratios will suit and can be tried...i am trying to collect data....but still nothing like actually fitting and trying...let us hope one of us get a chance to split ZMA engine and do this .

Sir, I believe you meant first 3 gears cause while downshifting have'nt felt much difference between 4th and 5th, but when downshifted to 3rd the bike regains its torque.

I was thinking more like shortening the ratios 'tween 4th and 5th by getting the 4th gear to 0.95 or so - then city mileage would increase .

Here I don't have the facilities ...hope some one who can do it takes inspiration from this talk .

Try the minimum speed you can go in 4th gear as well as in 5th gear and you'll know what psr meant .

Please don't compare ZMA r with R16 . Both are different types of bikes meant for different uses with entirely different characters . The ZMA R is not (just ) a sports bike and the R16 is not a high speed tourer/cruiser ( now , don't get mad at me .. I think the ZMAR is also a cruiser among other things ) . Both can do almost all the things the other can , but still...

vishak, try to see if suzuki gs150r's throttle cable fits, this bike's got 2 cables similar to the zma.i too have loged a complaint against jct motors regarding the counter spare parts sale.i got a call from them(jct customer care) after 3 weeks stating that its company policy not to sell spares, whereas cheran gives spares but at a delayed time, bunch of idiots

I can see so many things to DIY in your new ride . Once the "run in period " is over , you definitely have to spruce it up !
The seats need more cushioning ( considering the roads we have ) and the OE "HORN" is a let down !! Get one of those 'musical' ones .
                    The H/L looks halogen , but ...ahem ... "chinese halogen " .
                    BTW what is your 'stator' output ? In volts ? I guess it'd be 12 V , 1 or 2 amp , but at what speed ?
The "grab rail" is prone to rattling if you use it regularly ..
The brakes looks awesome - look at the size of the discs maaan!!!
The chain cover is pretty good - but chain rattles if it is even slightly loose !

Now this one thing you can do if you want to ---
The H/L can be modded to fit LEDs. A bridge rectifier ( 4 diodes and a capacitor - I guess you know what it is !) can give you DC and then you need a voltage regulator for 3V or 4.5 V and then get a discarded chinese LED torch and make use of the lighting part - or you can connect 4 LEDs in series but then you need to find the reflector/holder for it . The OE lighting needs speed for brightness ( being run straight off the 'stator' . LEDs give much more light at same voltage .

BTW , what is the intended purpose of the 'steed' ?

Hold the nozzle a bit away from the filter element because THIS blower air pressure is high.
Always tap the Air Filter on ground , AND THEN blow air from reverse,ie., the metal grill side.
