Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Since everyone's going for the coneset, I would also suggest you go ahead and look into it. And just to satisfy my curiosity but the bike in main stand and with the front wheel off the ground tighten the bolt on the upper T first followed by the ones on the lower T.Originally posted by undergroundrider View PostMotorcycling Experience:

the noise emerges once the front disc is pressed and released... to be precise it emerges only when the brake lever is released!!Originally posted by phanikar View PostLooks like a typical case of Conset adjustment gone wrong, Look for that first than replacing any parts. Wheel bearing and all are hyper remote cases. My little over 1.16L Run ZMA Is still running on stock axle bearing and Stem plates. If the fork tubes/legs are worn out, it would be more of a screeching sound than a Thud/Tak. If the fork Spring have lost elasticity, it would be a "thud" sound while bottoming out than on rebound. If the coneset adjustment doesn't work then you can go in for a replacement depending on the severity. 8K is too less for a conset damage, if its not aligned properly at the first place.
P.S: It could also be a Wiring/Switch harness/Horns hitting something on rebound, just a possibility.
There was no noise as I compressed and decompressed the suspension without using the front brake

I hail from bombay bro, roads out here are nothing less than dirt tracksOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostWear and tear depends a lot upon the riding style and roads. If you ride on bumpy/potholed roads often, you'd have to change parts sooner. I have changed cone set twice till now.

My only question is "Why?".Originally posted by kety213 View PostHey @Divya Sharan can we fit the rear part of zmr on zma?
ZMA is one of the most handsomely proportional bikes ever sold in India. Nothing over done (except for the front cowl added with the R version).
You may retrofit the disc setup if you wish. You can see the pics few pages back. ZMR's rear isn't as gorgeous as the ZMA's!

Something tells me, the issue would vanish if you take the caliper off, and reset everything.Originally posted by undergroundrider View Postthe noise emerges once the front disc is pressed and released... to be precise it emerges only when the brake lever is released!!

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Underground rider, did you check the coneset? Do not touch the caliper yet.
Let's troubleshoot from steering and proceed further.

in parallel I've been looking this up on Google as well
Indicators I'm facing are pretty much the same as suggested by you guys, its either a damaged/worn out coneset or a mis-aligned one
any specific brand of coneset I need to procure? or should I stick to genuine hero spares!Last edited by undergroundrider; 02-20-2015, 05:36 PM.

The problem is the turn indicators on the left keeps breaking.... The reason behind this is I am marriedOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostMy only question is "Why?".

. I recently put the new stay n did a short tour of 400kms it wall still there even after facing the bad roads. But as soon as my wife joined me it broke again
..
As women when sitting on pillion unknowingly break them as you may have observed on many bike only the left indicators hanging by the bikes. So I asked..
I know that Zma's design is flawless..that's the only reason why it was still selling in good numbers. Not like the new models they made shit out of it

A DIY would be much cheaper, don't you think? You're planning to spend thousands just because your indicator falls with a pillion?Originally posted by kety213 View PostThe problem is the turn indicators on the left keeps breaking.... The reason behind this is I am married

This thing, thats the caliper, sorry for not having a better picture.Originally posted by undergroundrider View Posthow do I reset everything, only the rotor was opened to replace the pads, rest of the bike is as it came (untouched/Stock!)

Every TAK relates to something being loose somewhere or the other, it can be loose T bolts, cone set or even brake caliper in your case, so just take it off, and put it back, but this time make sure that the pads are properly seated, the screech plate is properly set, everything is snug without any extra clearances and finally all the bolts are properly torqued in.

3~3.5 turns would do. I would settle with 3 and let it be, too much tweaking and it could develop an air leak.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View Post@experts, pl post procedure in detail- how to tune AFR of zma. Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Friends..
I've purchased brand new Karizma R in 2007.. Since then number of bikes like Machismo AVL500, Thunderbird, FZ, CBR250, Thunderbird500, FZ again, Ninja300 n Ninja650 came and gone.. but Zma is still with me like trusted horse since day one..
So last month I've decided to give her new lease of life..
Things need to be changed was
1) All Plastic body panels.
2) Tyres
3) Indicators
4) front Brake master cylinder
5) Clutch n pressure plates
6) Clutch housing
7) Timing chain kit n tensioner
8) Chain Sprocket
9) Battery and battery cables
10) spark plug, cable n cap
11) Scilencer plate
12) clutch and Excelator cables
13) handlebar
14) side stand
15) engine oil
16) Some nut bolts
It took me lot of time n energy to source all the items and once all came in while fitting I've discovered that RUBBER bush where body panels fit are worn out.. So to source all rubber parts it took me one month.. Finally work began to put all things together..
Repainted swingarm, wheels etc..
N my Karizma R looked like it came out of showroom right away..
After 9 years.. 50,000kms bike became new once again
So new tension came to protect bike from fall etc as it don't come with any leg guard.. N search begins for leg guard n finally I found this.. See pics.. Perfect fit..
I'm happy
