It feels good to read that you have made use of a relay.. Any change that draws current above oe setting should be drawn through a relay. Thatz my thought. And if you are upgrading your headlight use a relay for that too.

I had these pics in my pc, but no details on price/modifications part, got these pics from xbhp itself but don't remember which thread.
          Hope it helps.

PS - I think work done is neat.

Shifted to gulf pride 4t plus 20w40 from shell Ax7, all issues of vibrations, heat, gear shifts gone.I think shell was creating very less friction thats why had gear shift issues. Now engine heat is very low compared to shell.

Front end would take a dip if you do it without extending the fork, but if you do extend it and if its not done properly there would be stability issues. Another con of it is that the handle lock wont work as the key unit sits differently, but with some minor mods it can be done. BlackPanther had done it on his ZMA a while back, he did extend the forks as well. Though I do remember him claiming that one of the clip on slipped out unexpectedly, not sure of the circumstances as it was a long time back.

Gulf is a decent oil, but its the heaviest 20W40 I've used to date. Numbs everything but makes the motor sluggish. Last time I used in on the D100 before I traded it, and it was good, lasted the 700kms run without much hassle, even after doing a considerable number within city limits.

                Good Morning Everyone,

I own a 2013 Karizma. My Karizma has covered a little over 10,0000 KM's. Need your expertise and valuable suggestions on the following issues/upgrades am looking for.

                1) My Nissin front disc pads are giving up every 5000 KM - changed the first around 5000 and it is almost gone as of now.Am also not happy with the spongy feeling and looking for something better(any performance brake pads availalbe other than RTR pads?).While i changed the first pads around 5K , it was also because that the brake oil pipe had blocked and oil was not reaching the pads at all.Am fine with changing the entire set up except for the rotors.

                2) The headlights on the bike are quite inadequate and looking for an upgrade - Let me know if it fine by just going and upgrading to a 55/60W bulb or it is advisable to also add a relay?

                3) Oil change - Change over to a 10w 40 or 20w 40 engine oil on the bike - recommend a good engine oil which i can upgrade to.

                4) Please suggest a good mechanic for all the above upgrades in BSK , Jayanagar, JP nagar or nearby localities in Bangalore.

                Thanks in advance.

I fail to understand you on this oil drain interval at most times you quote of the forum. You mean to say the oil lasted for only 700kms ? or was it a typo ?

I upgraded the headlight couple of months after my purchase, however I haven't used a relay for it

Would installing a relay give me better illumination?

                      *Typo; I meant 'it'.

'it was good, lasted the 700kms run without much hassle, even after doing a considerable number within city limits'

Kinda reminded me of those extracts we used to get in school, "Blah...Blah..Though...Blah..Blah...Art...Blah..Bl ah!"-What did the author mean by this statement?

Jokes apart, I meant to convey that Gulf was the last oil I used in the D100, before I exchanged it for the P220. I used it considerably within city limits when in Bangalore and rode it homeward which is 700kms, after which I sold it. I always emphasis the 700 or 800kms depending on route because that route usually shows an oils true nature as the roads are mostly neat and the motor would be running almost continuously for 15~17hrs depending on the route, mostly at speeds close to redline or the limiter which is 85~90kmph true speed.

Man! I really need to improve my narrative skills.

I do remember a few variants of Pulsar 150 and 180 having similar puberty issues as soon as they shifted from bar to split handle bars.

                            Edit, Found it.
