Re: Hero karizma r front fairing rattling problem
Were you braking when the wheel hit the pothole? Fairing vibes are common and would require little loosening and tightening of screws/bolts to ensure a tight fit. As for the forks, check for any coneset problems and fork straightness.Originally posted by firoz winvhester View Post

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Hello people! Did a Chennai - Yercaud - Chennai trip on my 2009 Karizma R recently, the bike performed exceptionally well as usual, out on the highways as well as on ghats.
After cruising continuously @ 110 - 120 kmph, we had stopped over to say goodbye to each other, as we had to take different routes home. After my fellow riders had left, i tried to start my bike. But it simply died out. Tried using choke, it started. When I had closed the choke, the engine instantly shut itself down. Checked the fuel, Spark plug cables, etc. everything was fine. By that time, i was very much tired and wanted to somehow reach home. So i decided to start it using choke, give hard throttle whenever the engine was about to die, and keep moving. So rode it that way till home. Thought shall look into it in the morning.
Next day morning, i found out that the Air Screw was missing from the carb! It must have loosened itself and fell down somewhere i suppose. So i had been running on rich mix all the while.
Enquired at a few Hero Dealers here in Chennai, currently its not available here. They said they have to put VO and wait for the part, but they are unsure about the availabilty.
My doubts are:
1. Is it common for the air screw getting loosened and falling off?
2. How long is it advisable to run without it?
3. Are there any direct-fits for it ?
Please let me know if you come across this part anywhere. Thanks in advance!
Btw, i have stuffed a small bit of paper inside the air screw hole. Now able to run without stalling the engine. Temporary solution. :PTVS Apache RR310 - "Diablo" - 2018

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Not common unless you are ~5 full turns out (and the spring has lost tension).Originally posted by YashwanthBK View PostNext day morning, i found out that the Air Screw was missing from the carb! If you search (or read the entire thread) It has been mentioned earlier in this thread - people have cut out a ballpoint pen's cap or put in a small eraser piece (or anything similar) in front of the AFR screw to prevent this exact scenario happening.
Do not use paper, use something plastic or rubber based to block the hole.
You should not be running without the AFR screw at all.
AFAIK, no direct fits, it happened to me as well, my AFR screw fell out, and I got a replacement set.

Re: Karizma swing arm bush..
Worst case scenario you might have to replace it more frequently, but then again that won't be a matter of concern as the price is just a fraction of the OEM one.Originally posted by look4sunup52 View PostHi, i have changed my karizma R s swing arm bushes.. i used pulsar swing arm bushes costs rs.38 for 5 bushes instead of karizma original bushes costs rs 1300.. is there any problem in using pulsars bushes??Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
My zma's rear cowls are broken after riding hard for 2years, now I need to change them, mine being grey Zma I couldn't source the parts...today I called up rishi hero in white field ,Bangalore about the availability of parts and I was asked to pay ₹2500 as advance for the parts and then they will arrange the parts in 15 - 20 days
I even enquired parshwa motors about the parts but got the same answer
Can any one help me in sourcing the grey coloured rear cowls in Bangalore....or should I pay the advance ₹2500 and wait for 15 - 20 days ??
P.S : Even they are not sure of getting the parts in 15-20 days

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Bro don't go for the original one..as they break very soon, the plastic quality is not of worth...instead go for the local cowl made by sai its comes around 600-800 bucks.Originally posted by ramprasadkamineni View PostMy zma's rear cowls are broken after riding hard for 2years, now I need to change them, mine being grey Zma I couldn't source the parts...today I called up rishi hero in white field ,Bangalore about the availability of parts and I was asked to pay ₹2500 as advance for the parts and then they will arrange the parts in 15 - 20 days

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Sai manufactured fibre parts are available at any wholesale spare parts dealers . These people mostly sell the locally manufactured parts rather than original ..Originally posted by ramprasadkamineni View PostEven I managed with jugaad with the help of ravi@17bhp mechanic, but now they are completely broken Divyasharan bhai u have any idea where the local "sai" manufactured parts are available and is it best thing to go with the local one's?? Especially the ones who sell the 'dikki's' , seat covers helmets all at one place ..
Or you can ask a local garage mechanic he will point you to the store ..
I have friend here who has dealership of sai parts .. I felt Quality is par with the original one and price wise i found it lower than orignals ..

Karzima ZMR (2011) New Tyres
I have the old Karizma ZMR.
The tyres no longer seem reliable. I had a minor accident recently thanks to the tyres locking up. My friend also has test driven my bike and suggested the same. ( I am a Noob in bikes but my friend isn't he owns CBR 600 and Nija).
The rear tyre is a stupid dirt bike dunlop tyre(my brother had done that). The front tyre is still the original stock tyre (bike has been ridden for more than 20k now).
What are suitable tyres for Mumbai roads ( for both wet and dry conditions)? After how many kms should bike tyres be changed?
Thanks in advance

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
@ Bala 242..
The Cam shows contact with Rockers only at the tip of lobe...and minor scratches which can be ignored...Obviously the Rockers have been adjusted with more gap, and hence minimal contact between cam lobe and rocker....What is the condition of the Rocker ? if you have any picture kindly share it .. A loose tappet ie., tappet adjustment with more than recommended gap will make the AFR lean. This will result in less acceleration and vibrations...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
