The issue cleared itself. Not sure what happened. After about 100kms of riding when on the move the bike started surging after 3k and the response was back.

Re: Karizma R engine problem
The sound when starting as u mentioned in point 3 is due to a faulty one side clutch/roller bearing. Original costs 2500 from showroom, from local shops u can get it for 600rs. It happens only when using self start or after the bike fails to start when u kick. Re-bore would set you back by 1000rs approx for the parts. Packing kit get a local one for 200rs and use three bond paste to seal it.Originally posted by Udaya Chris View PostHi,

Heating problem could be due to low oil, clogged air filter/air fuel ratio. Adjust the carb to make the mixture rich and check.

Pl correct me if m wrong, does the p220 come with a ucal carb?Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI highly doubt that you can replace the Keihin carb with the Mikuni one. Even if the venturi/intake manifold sizes are similar, jets are different. And internals for both is slightly different.
Overall, you need more fuel and air to be pumped in for increase in performance.
If you manage that, you may observe a slight improvement. Not much since exhaust is the same.
For P220 like performance, you need a P220 engine + Mikuni + Exhaustec end can.
And, since the p220 carb is 32mm as opposed to keihin 28mm, there should be a good improvement in performance. And yes, you gotta rejet and mod the intake to fit the bigger carb.

My friend has done this. No mods are required to fit UCAL BS32 into the karizma inlet manifold.
Pickup is insane!, Bike jets ahead. Mileage is 5kmpl lower.
Just the choke doesnt work anymore, as P220 has a electronic solenoid.

May i know what went wrong with your unicorn ?Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostI'm planning to buy a pre owned ZMA due to my disappointing ownership of the Honda Uni 160[emoji20]. What would be a good price for a 2011-12 R model having run around 20k kms in Bengaluru?

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Rough and coarse engine feel, grinding sounds, bad mileage (35-40) and loose tappets sound.
I did the following-
1. Setting correct valve clearances - exhaust valve is given as 0.24mm in the manual. I tried different values, none were perfect.
2. Carb afr tuning - was lean initially, then rich. Finally i could get the chocolate brown on the spark plug tip.
3. Camshaft, rocker arms and bearings
4. Main shaft bearing
5. Air filter, mesh and centrifugal filter cleaning.
6. 10w30 and 10w40 oils.
Pickup, idling and top speed were fine.
I consulted sibun da. Nothing helped. In the end I had to sell it.Last edited by Shashank K R; 10-17-2016, 05:46 PM.

AFAIK, Hornet's engine is a reworked version of the Uni 160. I checked with couple of friends who own the Hornet and they are satisfied with the bike.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostRough and coarse engine feel, grinding sounds, bad mileage (35-40) and loose tappets sound.

May be they sorted out the niggles in the Hornet.
I don't see new Uni 160's these days, all are Hornet or the relaunched Uni 150

Straight fit. Except three things:
1) Choke wont work, since 220 has solenoid electronically controlled autochoke.
2) The second throttle cable wont work, since p220 carb has single throttle cable.
3) TPS wont work since connector mechanisms are different.
P220 genuine carb costs 4K I think. Only thing you are gonna connect to the carb is single throttle cable for a basic function. That's it.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Hi Friends,
i am owning a Karizma R 2012 Model, Recently i had some issues with my bike like Starting trouble and other general problems. I done a service and they said battery needs to be replaced and i changed the battery. It was good for past two days but again today i had a starting trouble like when I pressed the Self start the bike is getting ignited but when am accelerating the bike ignition goes off with a sound like Air getting released. After that even kicker will not help and the solution i got seems to be strange when i opened the Petrol tank and tilt the bike then if i start the bike it is getting started and goes smoothly. I don't understand this strange behavior. If someone can help me with this why i am getting such a starting trouble issue even after changing the Spark Plug and Battery.
Sometimes while driving i am feeling like the handle bar is shaking but in service center they said there is no problems with the Handle bar. Is there any suggestions for this. Thanks

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Installed throbbing lights on my Karizma. Since I am planning to ride on highways in coming winters, I wanted to increase my bike's visibility for the traffic behind me. They are not very strong though, doesn't irritate the person behind the bike as well. Looks cool enough also. Total cost - Rs. 500 including lights, fitting and wiring."Biking is Divine"

Re: Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience
Maybe due to vacuum lock in tank, there is a white valve on the fuel lid when viewed from below which keeps atmospheric pressure in tank, clean it with wd 40Originally posted by Manikandan Thiru View PostHi Friends,
