I was young, I was stupid and arrogant. Thought I was better than the guys at Hero Honda and decided to mod my bike. Plus adding to that, let it sit idle for over 2 years, which led to rats having their way with the motorcycle.Originally posted by The Pain View Post

Hi All,
Just got a brand new issue with the bike
. The bike refuses to start with the kickstart. The number of kicks dont matter neither does the choke.
The bike however, starts well with the self start every single time.
Confused
Any inputs will be appreciated. Cheers!!Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Lol, in mine the kicker only works 1 out of 5 times, rest of the time it just slips. The kicker on these bikes aren't meant for daily use.
Anyways a walk around would be to gently push the kicker till you feel resistance after which you push down and turn the motor, it might slip a couple of times but leverage and repeat till she starts. If it's slipping all the time then you need to replace the kicker gear.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
If the kicker slips when kicking, then check for proper Clutch adjustment. The kick power is transmitted through the clutch and if there is any slip, then kicker will not work...to know about this, try kicking with clutch lever pulled in...you will understand. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Hi. Thanks for replying. The kicker does not slip. The action and resistance of the kicker is perfect as its always been. It's just that the bike does not fire up at all.Originally posted by psr View PostIf the kicker slips when kicking, then check for proper Clutch adjustment. Thanks s1d. If the timing and valve clearance was an issue wouldn't it also affect the self start? The bike starts perfectly if the self start Is used?Originally posted by s1d View PostGet your valve clearances and timing checked and adjusted correctly.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
hmm yes, but depends on the extent to which it is out of spec. I starter usually eases out the hassle of a start by doing all the work for you.Originally posted by The Pain View PostThanks s1d. An year ago, I did have a minor issue with my Dio, which needed 3-4 kicks to start while the starter used to fire up the scoot in a couple of seconds. But I did feel a little loss in compression while using the kick, and then had the valve clearances adjusted during a service and that cured the problem and it fired up in the first kick.
Again, its just my guess in your case (assuming that you said you can feel resistance during the kick, which i presume is the compression you are talking about and hopefully not a damaged starter gear/bendix )
Can you pull out the spark plug and give it a few kicks and see if you have a good spark ?

. Tried to use the kick twice an hour ago and it worked fine. I probably wasn't doing it right yesterday . Damn I'm too used to using the self start on my bikes I guess.

In the beginning I used to kick the kicker whenever I got the time, a couple of kicks to get the oil circulating, a couple of kicks for that, for this. And I ended up with a burst oil seal. So never bothered with the kicker after that, and limited it's use to emergencies only, in my D100 all the 16.5k kms I've used it, I've only used the kicker twice.
And that was after going through Dans article in which he mentions the same.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Happend, once while dealing with a C3 no matter how rigorously I kicked she wouldn't fire, then the owner came and he kicked and then she came to life, on observation understood that when he did it, he would push the kicker all the way down and keep it there till the motor fired and was running.Originally posted by The Pain View PostThanks. Re: Hero karizma r front fairing rattling problem
How do you think we can help you fix the rattling of your bike's panels? Take it to mechanic and adjust/fix them as needed. Regarding suspension being hard, is there any fork oil leakage? There is a high chance that the cone set might take the impact. Check your front rim for any bends.Originally posted by firoz winvhester View PostHi all ... i own a karizma r 2014 version .. i never had a problem with it until yesterday when it ran into a very deep and wide pothole which was unavoidable by me even though i braked hard... since then the front suspension has become hard and fairing of my bike started to rattle even at low speeds .. i m seriously upset now becoz of stupid and shoddy civic work on bangalore roads .. please help me on reducing the rattling sound ..HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler
