  • I m thinking of getting Sprocketing done to my bike i.e wud b fitting the 14 teeth front sprocket and 38 teeth rear sprocket. The result: Better top-end and better cruising abilities.

    Any ideas on this.

With this done you would stand to lose on the initial performance of the bike. The pick up i.e.. I think you would be aware of this.

i am also plannign for this but not now.. i already spent a lot on my bike so right now i am not planngin for anythign but i want to do the sprocketing next year aroudn march, so if you are doign this please let me know what is the result , effects and cost.. you can contact harish_karizma for knwoign details, i remember his post regardign sprocketing on his zma. he knows the correct increase in front teeths so that the initial accelaration is not reduced much meanwhiel the top end is increases at lesser RPM

I will try recharging the battery and if needed replace after observation. Thanks for your reply.

Looks like the OE Amco battery does not last very long. Btw, Whats your opinion on your Amaron VRLA battery? I guess its a 9Ah and has been secured in place by bending the holder.
Your use is certainly more than ample to facilitate charging of the battery.

Do you have dual horns and/or a higher wattage headlight bulb? They could be the reasons for a quicker discharge. I suspect these factors had something to do with the early retirement of my OE battery.

I'm happy with the 9AH Amaron VRLA battery. It cost the same as a regular Amco and with a 48 month (2+2) warranty, its value is hard to beat. Yes, the clamp was bent to accommodate the larger 9AH. (There's a pic I posted somewhere in this thread).

              • Problem with my seat

it makes sound when i go through pot holes as if its not fixed properly. The SVC guys told nothing can be done for this as the zma has just one hook to hold the seat in position.

are u guys facing the same problem? any fix for this??

Get a bigger size nut/bolt&secure with washers.

No noticeable difference, except a starter motor that seems to turn over pretty eagerly. The general opinion is the extra juice feeds the add-ons such as higher wattage headlight bulbs and dual horns not provided for by HH, resulting in better overall performance and (perhaps) a decent battery life as a result.

This has been discussed before - Amcos and Exides make the crappiest batteries now and they leak. But problem is you only get these two plus SF (belongs to Exide now) in the 7 Ah segment. Other option is to use UPS battery or a 9 Ah battery. And 9 Ah battery may not be the best idea in the long term... depends on the electrical system.

am a relaxed man now. The gears are showing improvement after the oil change as suggested by you all.The bike has started to calculate the returns dat its gonna pay off, i guess!

Hey Raccoon, the united agency recommended me to get my baby servied at automark. Is that that bad anyway? In that case i'm gonna go to Sehgal in Thermax Chowk Akurdi. this SS is suggested by Chinmay Dangre whom i showed the bike to examine.

Thanks folks. Personally i never wanted to put the legend ZMA in bad light. But had some niggle with mine and hence shared with u all. BTW riding the bike itself gives such a 'sweet' feeling as the power delivery is soooooooooooo smooth and effortless
It isn't bad, its HORRID! Like I said, worst service center I'v seen till date. Not only are the mechanics very low grade, they don't even have/use the proper tools, etc., etc. United will obviously point you to Automark, as they are the same! The showrooms are called United Agency and the Workshops are called Automark Motors (for whatever reason). I'd sincerely suggest you try a better place. And its always a VERY good idea to be there personally while they do the job.

Are you sure its the seat? Mine is also loose, but when i'm riding, im sitting on it so there is no way to make noise. I too have noticed some noise when the bike was new. The tools that are kept inside the toolbox inside the seat was making the noise. I just wrapped the tools in a piece of clothe. problem solved.

Told service center guys about loose seat. They couldn't fix it. Since its not giving any problem, I've learned to live with it.

Firstly, increase the size of the bolt, as this one seems to be too small for the hole it has to go through. While inserting the bolt, put one or two washers to ensure it doesn't move around. Once that is done, secure with the bolt tightly on the other side. The same was done for my Fiero F2's seat&chain covers, both which use to move.
Hope you got the explanation, else I will attach pics. I can't dismantle the seat, but can send pics of the washers to help you understand.
Just suggest this to the mechanics, it works in most of the cases where the seat is not a removable type.

Edit: @SUBZ3RO: If the seat is a lock&remove type&moving around, then nothing much can be done. Maybe you can try this: Bend the hinge which goes into the hole a bit to fit more securely.
If the toolbox is creating noise, tie a fat rubberband around it!
