Get the bike serviced. Maybe requires a new battery, check the tires, change parts like cables, check for rusting in the tank and fuel lines, check the brakes, lights etc... Literally check if everything works as good as it should be.
For oil, I would suggest you use the Shell Rimula R4. Else use anything with grades 10w30, 10w40, 15w40 and 20w40. Do not use w50 grade and stay away from castrol oils.

              Thanks for the response.
I had removed battery (Amaron 9 ah) from bike.
Types were pretty new (Michelin Sirac Street and M42)
I have got all necessary cable lying with me
Only thing worries me is the fuel tank rusting!! It had almost half tank petrol

Any specific reason to stay away from castrol oil? I have shifted to shell by my own choice and i feel its the best for zma.

Lot of duplicacy of castrol oil in market. Even I ruined my Uni engine once due to duplicate power1.

+1 for the above... And also when you have a choice for better oil for your engine why choose an inferior one.

I have finally decided to sell my 35k kms zma (bought in sept 2013) because now I can not live with its missing/jerking problem between 4k to 5k rpm since the day 1 of purchase. I have tried everything to rectify by myself, ASC, senior mechanics etc but not succeeded-

                            1. Changed carb in warranty in july 2014 after lot of fight with HMC.
                            2. Cleaned fuel tank/ fuel filter lot of times.
                            3. Changed air filter/spark plugs at every 5k intervals.
                            4. Changed HT coil, spark plug cap, stator coil recently to rule out any ignition related issue.
                            5. Even clutch plates and chain sprocket are changed at 25k kms.
                            6. Set AFR to 3.5 turns.
                            7. Cleaned throttle slide multiple times.
                            8. Tried different fuel pumps to rule out adulterated fuel issue.
                            9. Throttle cable changed at regular intervals.

Though I have toured alot on this machine and I never got stranded during tours but I was not a happy tourer due to this specific problem specially on mountain roads as mostly required pull is at 4k to 5k rpm. I have invested lot of time, money, energy to sort out this problem but nobody is able to identify the root cause. Now I have given up after 3 yeras.

people say that motorcycling scenario in India is changing when there are sofisticated performance bikes are launching frequently but whats the fun if after sales service of company and people at ASCs are good for nothing.

Its the result of divorce of Honda with Hero. Now I regret the day when I sold my trustworthy and trouble free touring companion Honda Unicorn and bought "Hero" ZMA.

Sad to hear that you have decided to part with your bike. I can understand your position. I too went to the limits to get my Rtr fixed of the jerking issue. Then I decided to part with it and bought the Karizma. Hope you find your bike soon. Or i hope that problem disappears.

I'm facing the exact same problem in my new 2014 ZMA since Day 1. Mine throttles between 2k-3k. I haven't performed any of the above though i feel they shouldn't be selling fault bikes in the first place. Highly disappointed by HERO.
