Not finding enough time to pen it down now. The GTG will happen, compensating for last year too

The reason for the earlier seizure was due to the oil pump cup developing a crack which reduced oil pressure and resulted in the head running dry.

The same also needs to be sourced.

The dilemma we're in is whether to get the crank overhauled at the lathe or simply buy a new crank.

As for the carburetor we plan on plonking the Bajaj P180 BS4's carburetor, also considering shoehorning its air box into the chassis but uncertain on how things would turn out.

            Do share your thoughts.

            Cheers,

Provided you're fine with running a static map the following carbs are a direct fit for the ZMA.

              1. Pulsar 180 - The carb dia is a bit smaller hence you'll have to change insulator to a smaller size from another Honda and at the airbox side you need to use sealant. This setup offers the best FE though lacks grunt down low as reported by a fellow enthusiast, a tuner from Thrissur did mention upjetting it but the user is running on stock jets without any concerns.

              2. Pulsar 220 - This is the go to carb for the ZMA, the older variants came with Auto Choke but that has been removed in the latest iteration.

              3. Pulsar 200NS - This also works as shared by an enthusiast whose running on the setup, Auto Choke doesn't work.

A walk-around for setting up the auto choke is by hooking it up to the starter wiring, so that it gets activated when you thumb the starter, though both users with P220 and 200NS carburetor did say that they've never felt the need for choke.

Thanks for the detailed response ashwin.

My stock carburetor is giving me troubles like
                Starting trouble
                Poor throttle response and "missing"

Got the carb cleaned and found that the AFR screw is stuck.
My bike was seldom used in last 5 years.!
Mechanic was suggesting to get the carb changed.

Take the carb to lathe. They will do that.

Hi acs. Glad to know that you are still active here
Yes I had tried WD 40 but didn’t workout.

                        Back in Black.

After a 2 month wait my ZMA is back from painting.... in full black sans any stickering. There are still some more things to be done, like chain cover ( not available locally) , new fairing ( yet to locate the one I had bought) , OE bar end weights ( OE not available, mechanic put in some other bikes') etc. The 1st time I rode it I felt it was too silent, I've been used to "Noisy Boy" RX100's roar for the past 2 months. After 3 days of riding the sound is coming back. The change in power is most welcome. I haven't tuned it yet, currently running on the Mech's tuning. The air filter is PSR Sir's Zen mpfi mod. Wondering whether to get it Teflon coated...

Sir, I think both his bar end weights and the grips are from Hero Honda Xtreme (2011-2012) model. Do you think the Karizma ZMR ones will fit on the ZMA?

I had noticed that it was plastic, what happened was he started searching for it only by nightfall and the few shops opened then didn't have it. ( My guess, maybe he was plain lazy[emoji3526]).
Anyway today morning I made a phone call and located where I could get it. At lunch break I went and bought it. But I think there's another thingy that goes into the handle into which the weight is screwed on to. Forgot about it until now [emoji22]. Have to make another phonecall now.

Could've forgone the trouble and opted for RTR bar ends, they're the insert type like the ZMA's stick weights but the whole thing comes as a kit, it easier to install and actually do weight enough to matter.
