Hello .i have recently bored the engine with .25mm oversize piston..but the gear shift are hard in first 1-3 gear and finding neutral is also a task..this is my relative bike which was standing idle from 4-5 years..the engine is now ran for more than 800km but the gear shifts are still hard.i have changed engine oil as well ( total 2 times till now).
can i request someone( psr B7ACKTHORN ) please advice here.thanks

If the Clutch adjustment is set a bit loose ie., more than 2mm slack at the clutch lever, then this will happen. Adjust clutch lever slack to 1 to 2mm and see if the problem goes away. Using a thicker oil can also result in hard shifts and very cold ambient also causes same problem till bike reaches optimum temperature...Hope this helps.Originally posted by rawat97 View PostHello .i have recently bored the engine with .25mm oversize piston..but the gear shift are hard in first 1-3 gear and finding neutral is also a task..this is my relative bike which was standing idle from 4-5 years..the engine is now ran for more than 800km but the gear shifts are still hard.i have changed engine oil as well ( total 2 times till now).

Thanks psr sir..oil is 10w30 and bike have run more than 4-5 km and in the sun so i think only bit left is clutch slack..i have tried adjusting clutch slack yesterday and previously as well but still issue is there .so not sure what i can do more here..i am thinking of opening the engine and inspecting the gear stuff internally for any damage..any advice here sir..thanksOriginally posted by psr View Post

Opening the engine is the last resort...kindly make another check...On Top gear the Karizma speed will be 60 Kmph at 4,000 RPM. . see if the Ratio is true. Speedo error is normally +5 Kmph ..so even if Speedo shows 65 Kmph at 4,000 RPM it is ok. If during sudden acceleration or on Top gear the RPM increase without increase in Speed, then you have a clutch that is slipping.Originally posted by rawat97 View Post

Still check with clutch slack before opening the engine..

Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a good on-Off road Front tyre for the Karizma R? 2.75-18 size specifically.... has anyone used the Moto D in front fitment on a Karzima?
Looking for suggestions from anyone who has done rides in the Himalayas / rural rough roads / twisty hill roads etc. Thanks.
Currently using Apollo actizip F2 and it works well in dry conditions. Feeling a little slippery in wet tarmac and on twisty roads, I lose some confidence. It's generally not great for off-road (which I do a lot).
So, looking for a front tyre that is sort of Knobby in 2.75-18 configuration. Can we fit a 2.75-18 Rear tyre in Front? What are the pros and cons of doing this?
I don't know much about tyres, hence asking. Thanks so much.Last edited by highwayhermit; 06-16-2022, 02:51 PM.

Hi!
Can someone post the length of the Karizma engine oil dipstick? A photo with scale will be better.
I accidentally broke the original one few years back. Since then, I am using the one of Splendor, it was a direct fit, but I had doubt about it's length. Due to this, I always have doubts about the engine oil level. I am not being able to get the original one.
I recently purchased the Motul 7100 20W50, 1L pack. But, I have approximate 330ml-340ml oil left in the package bottle after the replacing old engine oil, as new engine oil level has reached maximum level on Splendor dipstick.
Thanks.

Thank you, PSR Sir. You are a saviour.
This is the one I have.
This is approximate 12.9 cm long, when measured from starting of the thread.
I will make a Maximum Level and Minimum Level marks according to the one which you have i.e. at 10.3 cm and at 11.5 cm, respectively.
Looks like, I was running with less engine oil than I should have, almost at minimum level. Silly me! I should have done this way earlier.Last edited by Vijay1911; 09-13-2022, 08:49 PM.

You had oil though less than full, and that is a plus. Most Honda engines run with oil at the minimum level without trouble... make sure oil change is done at 3K to 4 K kms (Mineral oil )and not top up. Many an engine is killed by this Top Up mentality wherein a used oil still exists inside and becomes all slimy and thick impeding circulation . It is called " The Black Death ". I had seen such an engine at a mechanic shop with top of Head opened . Everything was gummed up and the Cam, Rockers had deep groove. Beside this the engine had very poor compression...but the oil level was correct. The engine oil of course was sticky and thick black mess. So remember to change oil periodically and use an oil with plenty of Detergents to keep the engine clean and fine..Originally posted by Vijay1911 View PostThank you, PSR Sir. You are a saviour.

I keep changing the oil in regular intervals. Yes, I do look for detergents in the engine oil, thanks to this thread. Thank you as well.Originally posted by psr View Post

Sorry for the Off-topic....
I am from Chennai & Planned to buy a used- Karizma R, Is it worth now?
If yes means Please let me know the check points I need to concentrate while inspecting the vehicle.
Usage %: City 50 & Highways 50
Is Spare availability would be an issue?
Thanks

I can say, finding OEM spares is sometimes serious headache, but still possible. I am from Gujarat, it is tough here to get the spares. I don't know, what is the scenario in the southern part of the country about spare parts? Hero website about spare parts is waste. If you can find Hero parts distributor in Chennai area, that should help.Originally posted by Nanda SS View PostSorry for the Off-topic....
