Today, I have faced few weired problems with my bike - the 2011 HH Karizma-R, purchased on 10Feb'2011 and 1654 on the odo.
While releasing the clutch leaver and opening the throttle very slowly, I found the engine is knocking but if I open the throttle fast, there is no knocking.
In 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear if I try to touch the redline, the engine is knocking a bit. But at the 5th gear, at higher RPM the engine is knocking loudly.
I have checked the spark plug, its light brown.
While on idle, i can hear the tappet sound.
Plenning for second service tomorrow, but I am really depressed with that incident. The knocking is hurting my engine.
But one information guys, I am getting FE above 40kmpl.
I hardly bothers for the FE(to some extent), I just want a good ride and long lasting trouble free engine. So, should I go for upgrade the curb Jets?

Karizma's total oil capacity is 1.2 L ,But you can drain only 900ml through the drain bolt,if they opened the engine,They might have to fill it with 1200ml of oil!Did they opened the engine?Originally posted by shadu View Post

The full capacity is if you do an engine strip down...normally a refill takes about 900 ml....we are not mixing different oil..just that whatever can be drained is drained and refilled..so no probs...i had switched from HH to Gulf and feeling good I did...gears shifts smoothly and engine is less noisy.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostBro when we drain oil through the drain bolt,only 900ml can be drained ,Right? U need to drain old brake fluid and fill dot4 fluid in that container. Just take the bike to a good mechanic, it should not take more than 10 min to do it.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostComment

NO they did'nt open the engine. I hate going there, jus waiting till the free services are over. Today I went to a road side mechanic and got all the nuts and screws tightened. Some where too loose. The vibration seems to have reduced. But there is one sound tak which comes from the front tyre area when i go fast on potholes. Bike has run 2200km till date.Comment
